Hi I have the WF-1000xm5 headphones and a Windows 10 PC, I don't have BT built in so require a usb BT dongle is there a recommended one for use with the XM5s?

TLDR quicker fix 2025:

You can take a look at creative labs for their BT-W6 BT dongle see here, which covers majority of the aptx family of BT codecs including aptx adaptive (low latency and high) and aptx lossless, but it does not support LDAC. For LDAC you can see below how I fixed it with Maxuni BT + alternative A2DP driver.

Quicker fix in this post here but you can search for a basic BT dongle that works with BT keyboards/mice/headphones etc (not a pure USB sound card) like the Maxuni USB BT 5.3 dongle here

and then get a software called Alternative A2DP Driver, you can run the trial and test if it works with LDAC or whatever BT codec you want with your BT dongle and if it does purchase that A2DP app since you get a discount before the trial runs out.

Old post and info below:

I wish to try LDAC codec via Alternative A2DP Driver for the PC to play back my Flac music collection also so the BT dongle needs to be good and capable of high quality resolution sound playback, not sure if there are better brands or BT dongles though.

Appears no such Bluetooth Adapter with LDAC supports exist for the PC or Laptop or Windows at least in 2023, see here.

There is some discussion of work around's here while using the FiiO BTA30 with an optical input, so your PC/laptop needs a optical sound output either inbuilt or via a soundcard/dongle/dac I guess.

Upon further reading the FiiO BTA30PRO is better supported ie USB to PC and more.

Also mentioned here the Fiio M6 which I believe is a music player can act as a usb dac and transmit LDAC is another possible solution for some users.

Its a confusing situation.......I will read about the FiiO BTA30/Pro

Hello guys

I bought a tuf gaming b550m plus motherboard that has not wifi, thing is I have a stadia controller that id like to use to play games like the witcher, but i don't know which one to get.

I found this one for 50$ but I don't know if it's overkill or not, since I just want it to connect a Bluetooth controller, but maybe there's some cool stuff I could do with it besides that.

I've already got wireless earbuds, a set of Galaxy Buds Pro that I quite like, what I need is a better Bluetooth transmitter for my PC.
The problem I'm looking to solve is lag, or latency I guess, the audio isn't synchronizing with the action on my monitor. I also use my computer for gaming, which means bluetooth connected controllers and such, so a Jack of all trades solution would be preferable.

My motherboard has built in Wifi and Bluetooth 5, so my first thought was just upgrading the antennas that screw into the motherboard.

That said, I don't actually use the Wifi component, so maybe a dedicated Bluetooth adapter would be a better solution.

If there's a better place to ask this question feel free to let me know, maybe this would be more in r/buildapc's wheelhouse.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I also use my computer for gaming Then you'll have to avoid bluetooth. Bluetooth audio = lag. (Bluetooth keyboards and mice don't lag nearly as much as bluetooth audio, but they still lag a lot more than wired, or proprietary 2.4GHz). Some bluetooth audio devices support a "low latency" mode or standards like AptX Adaptive, but even these, under ideal conditions, have 80ms latency due to the inherent latency of Bluetooth audio. If any other of your gaming peripherals had this much latency you would say they're unplayable, and Bluetooth audio shouldn't be given a free pass here.

The best Bluetooth adapter for PC is the $130 FiiO BTA30 Pro. It has LDAC through USB and basically all version of AptX except for AptX Adaptive. Keep in mind that AAC transmitters don't exist outside of basically Apple devices, so it also doesn't have that. Your motherboard is probably using Intel AX200/210 Bluetooth/WiFi (PCIe/integrated) cards. Those are pretty much the best we can get (they pretty much only have regular AptX though) at the moment too. Especially since they let you see the names of the devices connected and the initial battery life. Most other Bluetooth transmitters don't have those extra features. You can upgrade the antenna but it will probably mainly affect the range, not the latency. I basically get the fully advertised Bluetooth 5.0/5.2 range after accounting for the walls and other obstructions. There are AptX Adaptive transmitters now though and they're only $15-20 from AliExpress/Taobao. These are more like hacks or quickly put together, but they're basically the only option for AptX Adaptive transmitters. I use those with my FiiO UTWS5 TWS adapter and they work good enough. Just keep in mind that the lag is still noticeable if you look for it. Here's more info on TWS adapters (has AliExpress links to adapters/converters for headphone/IEM jacks/ports): https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/t3v7wp/looking_to_make_my_arias_wireless/hyv14dn/ Here's more info on the AptX Adaptive dongle (only $15-20): https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/sy33ee/i_ordered_one_of_those_generic_usb_aptx_adaptive/hxvvpyx/ . Do note that some people have reported cutting out issues, see here for more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/sorlh2/wireless_earbuds_or_iem_for_pc_gaming/hz9in8o/ Here's more info on links for the AptX Adaptive transmitters (USB dongles) on Taobao/Tmall/et cetera: https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/sorlh2/wireless_earbuds_or_iem_for_pc_gaming/i36cs6p/ . You can buy all of those AptX Adaptive transmitters now from Wolfgo Store on AliExpress. KB8P/KylinWing or 24-bit AptX Adaptive transmitter dongle: https://ALIEXPRESS/item/1005004040010324.html KB9, has 3.5mm jack, supposedly better connection strength (less random cutting out), allows you to configure which AptX version you want to prioritize, just released this March on Taobao, AptX Adaptive transmitter dongle: https://ALIEXPRESS/item/1005004154175611.html The KB8P (from Wolfgo Store) should arrive with the 24-bit option ready to use on Windows. If it doesn't check out the Head-Fi and Qudelix 5K threads about it for the links to the Baidu website/file. Go for the KB9 since it's newer and supposed to have better connection and more features, just be aware that it's only been released for like a month (became available on Taobao just this March) and nobody really has reviews of it. Since AptX Low Latency was never really used in TWS earbuds outside of the first gen Sennheiser Momentum, you have to use AptX Adaptive for low latency. So those AptX Adaptive USB dongle transmitters are for sure necessary. Just make sure your future TWS earbuds or Bluetooth receivers/devices support AptX Adaptive. But in reality, for low latency you need a TWS earbud that has a dedicated gaming/low latency mode. Even TWS earbuds that have no AptX (Adaptive) will have lower latency than AptX-enabled TWS earbuds. Say for example the FIIL T1/T2 Pro series. Those only have AAC and SBC. But they have a dedicated gaming/low latency mode and it's actually customizable in the FIIL app (there's an English translation on XDA Developers Forums) too. See here for more (repeated/same) info on low latency TWS earbuds and AptX Adaptive transmitters: https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/uafr3s/low_latency_wireless_iems/i5xiz8j/

hi everyone, I built my PC 4 years ago and installed a wireless card in it around 3 years ago but I think it's dying. I'm currently in an apartment where I can wire my computer to the network but I may have to move back in to my parents house which doesn't have any available ports. the reason why i think its dying is because back when I was on wifi I was getting very spotty internet but now my main concern is that when I try to connect my bluetooth speaker to my computer, it only works if I put the speaker right up against where I installed the wireless card. any farther and the sound becomes choppy and eventually disappears. i know the speaker works because it works just fine with my phone. i'm pretty sure a new wifi/bt adapter will fix this, but please correct me if I'm wrong!

so my main concern right now is to try to boost the bluetooth signal so I can put the speaker on my desk and not sitting on the ground behind my pc lol, i'll post some links of some that I was looking at and I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know which ones are good or recommend me ones that i haven't seen yet.

Looking for good bluetooth adapter, I'll mostly use two devices, a wireless headphone and a controller

I will quickly explain my situation: I have both PC and Notebook gamer.

Notebook gamer (Acer Nitro 5) have a great bluetooth signal which let me go to other rooms and do personal tasks while listening to music. The PC did not have a bluetooth in the motherboard, so I bought a bluetooth adapter, Baseus Ba04. This adapter was a big dissapointment for me, very inconsistent, frequently lags and has weak signal. If I walk around to another room in the house the signal quickly dies. Even if I'm right front of the PC it lags sometimes.

I heard good things of Asus USB-BT500 and TP-Link UB500, does anyone knows if they're better than the Ba04? Or, does anyone recommend any other Bluetooth model?
I really just wanted one that is at least good as the bluetooth from the Acer Nitro 5 I have

Hi. I have Kali Audio IN-UNF Ultra-Nearfield studio monitor system, and I'd like to play music via Bluetooth from my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone SE, using services like Spotify, YouTube, and downloaded mp3s.

I'm considering the following:

  • US$39.00 Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Bluetooth Streaming

  • US$9.99 UGREEN Aux to Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter

  • US$23.99 esinkin Wireless Audio Receiver

  • US$79.99 Emotiva BTR-1 Virtual Copper Bluetooth System

  • US$119.00 Kali Audio MV-BT Professional Bluetooth Input Module

I am not an audiophile and will primarily be playing compressed mp3 files, so I care more about stability and reliability than the highest-quality sound. Thank you!

I’m looking for the best convenient Bluetooth DAC/AMP adapters. I’d like either an earhook design or one that can be hooked onto my body/clothing in someway. (I often wear clothing that has no pockets.) I’ve done some research, am I missing any?

Frontrunners:

• Qudelix 5K. Great reviews, I just have some more budget if there’s something better.

• ifi Audio GO pod. Has some connectivity issues, appears there’s hints at a version 2.

• Moondrop EVO. The battery life is a bit concerning.

Knocked out:

• FiiO UTWS5. Bad reviews.

• FiiO BTR5. No clip.

• Astell Kern AK-HB1. No clip.

• KZ. Might have connectivity issues? Is cheap though.

Hi everyone. So I’ve been scouring the internet for reviews on IEM wireless adapters (not dac) for me to buy instead of going for an upgrade on my cables. I have 2 main questions

  1. Are they good enough sound quality wise to replace the standard cable? Like can it drive and feel like you’re just using your wired IEMs? (AAC vs aptx if that matters in this case or any other else pls elaborate)

  2. If the answer is yes, then what are some good ones to use? Budget is probably $70 max

Huge thanks everyone!

it depends on your source, but if you're able to pair a transmitter that supports aptX HD, aptX Adaptive HD, or LDAC with a compatible receiver then it's practically transparent if you have an iOS device, you're going to be stuck using AAC, which is still quite good, but uses a slightly lower bitrate which you may or may not notice if you can stretch your budget a bit, the Qudelix 5K for around $100 is an excellent receiver, has onboard EQ and can also be used wired. To use it with aptX HD on desktop, you would want to add something like a KB9P transmitter for another $20

Are they good enough? Yes, absolutely, you probably won't tell the difference. If we're talking about earhook type adapters they may be a slightly short on power compared with cabled or a decent BT DAC - depends on sensitivity of the IEM. AAC, APTX and even SBC are plenty good enough for the average user (as long as your transmitter is Bluetooth 5+), though it is nice to have LDAC or APTX Adaptive. The best modestly priced earhook style is probably the KZ AZ09 Pro (C-pin) - unfortunately it only works with KZ C-pin IEMs unless you mod it (may also work with QDC, ymmv). I've heard good things about the TRN BT20XS, but I'm reluctant to purchase because I had the previous model (BT20S Pro) and it was terrible. The other main contenders are the FiiO UTWS3 and UTWS5 - the UTWS3 is in your price range, but doesn't seem like amazing value for money, the UTWS5 is more expensive but is more powerful and supports APTX adaptive and HD - nice to have if your phone/transmitter support them. The FiiOs would only work with a flat two pin IEM. Unfortunately no one seems to make one that properly fits recessed two pin like Moondrop and Truthear use. If you're willing to go with a box style adapter the FiiO BTR3K is pretty solid for the price. If you can go higher the Qudelix 5K is similar, but better in nearly every way (parametric EQ support with LDAC for high quality).

Hello, currently using a TP Link BT dongle (suposed to be 4.0) and I'm not happy with reception, getting some input lag spikes if Im not super close the pc or even my foot is in the line of sight of the dongle...

Im using a mini HP pc as my HTPC: i5 6th gen, 16gb

I already tried: Multiple USB ports Changing power profile to max performance Increased poll rate to 1ms (this one helped a little)

Things to try: Use a USB extension to move the BT around Buy one of those BT adapters with an antenna attached.

Any one here using this BT adapter and having poor performance too?

Is this a feasible way to add Bluetooth capability to non-bluetooth speakers? I'm looking to buy a pair of basic computer speakers (or possibly powered monitor/bookshelf types), many of which have only wired inputs, but I'd like to be able to use them over BT from devices other than my desktop that they will stay connected to.

I am thinking I could connect a Bluetooth receiver dongle (like the ones pictures) to the speakers' input jack, but would it sound terrible? I'm sure it depends on a lot factors and there's a good reason that some BT adapters are $10 and others are $200.

Anyway, let's say I want to add BT to my Bose Companion 2 Series iii, which have only a standard 3.5mm input jack, how much sound quality will be lost if I use a cheap vs. expensive BT adapter? What about adding BT to a higher end speaker via optical input?

What low cost Bluetooth adapter would you recommend for connecting to my amplifier so that I can stream from my phone?

  1. Are there any issues with the very lowest cost ones?

  2. If spending more, is it really worth it?

  3. Are there practical differences and options around whether inputting into say output jack, optical, etc?

  4. I'll need to be able to connect an external CD player or turntable somehow to the amp or ultimately to the speakers.

  5. Any other key considerations?

I live in a small house. The amp is 25 years old, lower-middle price, and has the typical outputs but not loads.

I'd say for $2 you get what you pay for. ... i had a cheap one like that, worked fine for my keyboard for a few months and then died. Got a tpLink one now, no problems with it ... The answer really depends on a specific dongle. Personally, I use a quite cheap adapter from ComFast, which is for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and it works just fine.
