Hey, I’m looking for a good wireless microphone for vlogging. I’m just getting started and plan to shoot daily vlogs using my smartphone, so I need something that’s easy to set up and use, even for a beginner like me.
I purchased the DJI Mic Mini. It’s been excellent for vlogging: clear audio quality, lightweight, and the battery easily covers long shoots.
I’m based in the US, so something easily available here would be great.
The microphone should have a wireless range of at least 50 to 100 feet, so I can move around freely while recording. I’d prefer something small and lightweight, as I don’t want it to get in the way during shoots. Audio quality is really important to me, clear sound with minimal background noise is a must.
I also need a battery life of at least 3 to 4 hours, since I’ll be filming outdoors and on the go. It has to be compatible with phones, preferably with simple plug-and-play support. I’d like it to be from a trusted brand, and my budget is around $100 to $150.
If you’ve personally used a good wireless mic or have one you recommend, I’d really appreciate your suggestion.
Right now I'm eyeing two options from 2 bigger brands, rode and dji. Other smaller brands / online retailing is not really possible as I have to purchase the mic using cash in physical stores due to procurement policy. My budget is $1800 HKD, or $230 USD. The Rode WIreless ME dual and Dji Mic 1 both fit within this budget, so which should I get?
P.S. I also looked at hollyland mics but they don't seem to have the same level of audio quality (?

I have a Sony ax6400 and I’m looking for an external mic for walking around vlog style videos. I’m wanting one that doesn’t block the flip screen that folds to the top, instead of the side like a camcorder.
I don’t know much about mics, I think I want one of those small fuzzy ones that plug into the side (idk what they’re called help😭)
Any recommendations? Im needing something that’s affordable but I’m willing to buy used to get something better quality for a better price.
So, I guess you could say I've been unlucky. I've just bought my second set of wireless mics on Amazon that don't work. First of all, the cheap ones I bought initially didn't even turn on. These ones have a faulty wire, but upon connecting with a second wire, do seem to turn on, but again don't pick up audio.
My budget is small, and I'm currently using the in built mic in my dslr and want to ensure good audio.
Can anyone please recommend some food mics that actually work for under £50?? Rescue me from this faulty shitty equipment madness haha!?
Hey everyone, I'm looking for recommendations for a good wireless microphone (preferably under $150 CAD) that works well for YouTube videos. I’d like something with clear audio, range isnt that important will only be 10ish feet away, minimal background noise.
Also, if anyone has suggestions for a cheap but good-quality camera for YouTube (doesn’t have to be top-tier but should have good video quality for the price), I’d love to hear them!
(the NEEWER CM28 is currently on sale idk if they are any good as i know nothing about microphones)
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone! I have a Sony a5100 which does not have a mic jack. Which means I need an external mic that works with my phone. I have looked at Lavalier Mics, and I am thinking about using a single wired option. I am looking at the Shure MVL, but I am still trying to figure out options.
It will of course involve constant walking outside, so anything to minimize wind, and tips for avoiding clothes noise would be great! Thank you so much!
Edit: looking to spend around $100 or less
I’m planning to start my own youtube channel to make study and travel vlogs or just daily vlogging, i need recommendation for a good lav mic which is easy to carry long battery life and sound quality should be good with a noise cancellation effect, any help as I don’t know a thing about these tech gadgets
Hey y’all. I’ve been dipping my toes into the content creation game, and have had a lot of fun, and some moderate success (even though it’s more of a passion project).
I’m looking to purchase a budget wireless microphone that I can record on my iPhone, the transfer the audio to my laptop (Mac) so I can finish the editing on there. I would like to keep it around $20, and in usually within C1 or 30ft of my phone when filming. Thx!
I’m not looking for anything fancy, just something reliable without crackling/popping sounds🫡
Which mic for vlogging?
Hello i need your help. I started to vlog at the beginning of this year and want to get a better mic.
My choice is between:
Sennheiser MKE 400
or
DJI Mic Mini
What would you choose and why?
This is a question for all film gear geeks and freelancers who do a lot of run & gun stuff, small to mid tier commercial and corporate stuff or even weddings.
I'm in dilemma on which Wireless mic's to go with, I want realiability and as best as possible audio quality but also I have to be carefull with budget. I was thinking about spending around 200€ for the whole package (2 mics, 1 reciever, 2 lavs, charging station, etc...) but as more of a research I did I came up with a conclusion that maybe I should go for Rode Wireless Pro.
So...should I ?
I really want to save as much money as possible but I also made a decision I want to buy as best (best quality in every aspect) gear as possible while not going bankrupt as a freelance student, so I started looking at Hollylands Lark Max which is 100€ cheaper, BUT...then I went to check RWPro and realised it has 32 bit flow & timecode options (which I have been considering since I do 90% of projects that are run & gun, also I do weddings a lot).
Is it worth it? Need genuine suggestions and thoughts because my head will explode from being undecisive.
