Open Box items are unique inventory, every unit priced individually.  It wouldn't have dropped in price after purchase, once purchased that unit's pricing wouldn't be updated. There may have been a similar unit still available, for which the price was updated for some reason.  They won't price match the cost of one open box unit to a different open box unit.  That will require actually exchanging the units. If you were looking at the cost of a new in box unit having gone on sale an additional $400 off and are expecting the cost of the open box unit to be adjusted to suit, that is sometimes possible.  It would be by manager discretion at the store level.  Corporate customer service won't work with open box pricing, as far as they're concerned the open box pricing was set by corporate and is correct as labeled. I used to work there and sell appliances. It's absolutely worth it. People will get something in, not like it, and had us return it to the store for credit. At that point, it's unsaleable full price, so we would open box it. They are great buys, with sometimes also a scratch or a ding- but not all the time. You can talk them down on open box items, too.
