i remember a few years ago i bought a laptop and got a student discount for it but i just did some online researching because i want to buy an apple watch and apparently they’ve discontinued it??
Looking to buy an MBA for college and I cannot remember when the back school student discounts at BB begin. Are we still a few weeks away, more like end of July??
I see Apple has a price drop on MBA and also include the $150gc.
reason I’m looking at BB is because I have some gift cards I want to use. Does anyone remember if BB also includes the $150 Apple gc?
thanks

I’m going to Best Buy tomorrow in hopes to buy a Surface Pro 7. I’m a college student and I see that Best Buy does student deals. Microsoft also has student deals for the Pro 7. Anyone have experience with this? Could I price match what Microsoft’s deal is?
Q990c is on sale for $900 now, not sure if it's a good deal, but wonder how much lower the price will be with EDU discount. Has anyone tried?
I am currently getting ready to start college in the fall and I am looking to purchase a laptop within a couple of weeks. I've heard somewhere that you can receive a discount ($100 or so) off a laptop if you're a student in college. How can I receive this discount? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I’m looking to buy the MacBook Air that’s on sale for 25 percent off, would i be able to stack my student discount with that even though it’s already on sale? TIA.
Best Buy does not offer a student discount. If you’re looking at the $749 offer that should be better than the education discount anyway ($899 for M1 at Apple I believe). Usually the BB general deal ends up being around the same as Apple education or even better.

Providing the information here so anyone else who are interested will benefit from it as well. Apple and BestBuy only used to offer 12 month 0% APR Financing for MacBooks. But since M4 Release, BestBuy provide 24 Month Financing. So I made the pre-order yesterday via bestBuy and was able to make a price match for the Apple Education Store pricing just now. If an agent says they can't do it or can't be done for Pre-Orders, try again later and you'll get through.
Just wanted to let everyone know.. I read it somewhere on one of these reddit pages so kuddos goes to whom ever shared the comment.
If you want to get the Macbook for the Educational Discount price matched at Best Buy and not have to wait for apple shipping its easy. Just got to the Best Buy website and initiate a Chat at the bottom of the web page, then simply request a price match and provide the Best Buy skew #. Then they will ask you for the link of the site to you are trying to price match. Share with them the direct URL for the Macbook you want directly from the page showing the price with the educational discount! They will have you make the purchase at full price and then once you give them your order number they will refund you the difference! That simple!
Just wanted to share because like many of you when I want something, I want it NOW! haha....
Cheers! from my Macbook-PriceMatched-Air
I am thinking of buying a macbook and airpods but I’m still iffy if I should use bestbuy or apple, I am also a student so please help me identify which has better discounts or deals for students
Apple requires a .edu email to apply for student discounts I believe. Apple won’t have any sales outside of that. Best Buy will have pretty much all the same products, but with the chance of them being on sale. Best Buy only does “student deals” around August, and it’s not a store wide deal, it’s usually particular items that change every so often, discounts can vary from $50 to $300 I believe, both for student deals and standard sales. Check Best Buy first to see if they have any sales going on.
If you can wait until May, that's when the dads and grads sales are. Promotions differ, but I have seen just straight discounts off Mac computers or free stuff like AirPods. This is for both Best Buy and Apple.
So, I'm not going to get into to much detail, but long story short. I have about 14yrs of retail both commissioned and non commissioned sales/customer service experience, I'm stellar when dealing with customers and always #1 or #2 for totals in the precinct even though I'm a part timer. Well a full time CA spot opened up and I applied for it. Well I was told they went with someone who was a "better fit".....who was the better fit you might be wondering ? A new hire who has only been a CA for 2 months, and this is his only his second job ever.....the best part they want me to train him up for fulltime because "I'm so well versed in the goings on of the store and departments"
so obviously I refused and told my manager that "seeing as how I wasn't qualified enough to get the full time spot I don't feel qualified to train the new full timer or the new part timer they hired, and that's pretty much where I'm at. So I've basically quit trying outside of what I am minimally required to do i.e 1tag total per hour, 1total fun check per hour and 1 total for every 10 hours worked. So they can't justify firing me because I'm doing my job description to a T. But I am 110% not going out of my way to help/train/volunteer for anything extra and haven't since I found out about the job.
Sorry (just ranting cus I'm still pissed about it) anyway long story short I'm done with Best Buy, I have no plans to move up past where I am (part time CA non seasonal) and have no plans to stand out on any kind of ranker/shout-out/team meeting whatsoever.
But my question is, has anyone used best buy for the styer University thing to get their MBA degree, and or network/apple/Microsoft/intel certifications? If so how did it work being part time and was there any cost out of pocket ? Cus if that's the case I know after Xmas hours are gonna plummet to 5-10hrs a week. But if I can get a degree I don't have to pay for outta them it's worth me sticking around.

Hello! I was looking for a new MacBook Air ever since my MBP 2015 broke. I was looking through BestBuy and Apple and found out that the M2 was $799 and the M3 was $899 however with the Apple Education discount I can get the M2 for $899 and M3 for $999 plus a $150 gift card. Where should I buy it from? I also have an Apple Card which will give me 0% interest. Thank you!
Does anyone know if they will give me a hard time “price adjusting” this:
MacBook Air on sale for $250 off online. Store price was different but they gave me the online price no problem. Do they consider this price matching? After the fact (same day) I got a student coupon for $50 that DOES stack on top of the discount. I checked...meaning I could order online for pick up for total of $300 discount. Tomorrow they are closed because of Easter. Assuming the sale stays the same, will they make this work so I get the $300 off? Will they need to return/rebuy or can they just refund $50? Do I need to bring box only (at all) or do I have to actually return that SN product? I assume no, but if sale ends by Monday will they do anything for me? I am tempted to just buy for p/u Monday and return the one I have to avoid any hassle, which I’m well within my rights to do. Do they charge a restocking fee for MacBooks?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: If anyone cares, they gave me the coupon no problem. I called and lady on the phone emphatically said they could do it and do [stuff like that] all the time. Girl at customer service didn't question it but didn't really know how to do it. Manager questioned the way they took the BB.com discount, but never acted like he couldn't or shouldn't. Walked around, came back and told her to do a price adjustment? and basically they just refunded my card $53 for tax too. Pretty painless.
Well first off, there's no restocking fee on laptops so that won't be an issue. But sales usually run from Sunday morning to Saturday night, so it's not 100% certain that it will be available for the same price when you come in. But customer service shouldn't have any issue giving you that $50 but make sure to bring the MacBook and everything that came with it in because they will most likely have to do a return/exchange.
Unless something has changed between now and this time last year, while student discount coupons stack with sale prices, they don't stack with price match or open box. Even if we're just price matching our own website, the coupon won't stack.
If this happens, the only way the store will be able to give you the student deal is if a manager is willing to make an exception. Since there is very little margin on Apple products to begin with, I'd say this is possible but unlikely (I'd give it about a 35% chance in my store)
It looks like, as of now, the price of the MacBook Air has returned to normal, so you may be out of luck all around, but it certainly can't hurt to go back to your store on Monday and see if you can get lucky.
I'm in the market for a new laptop and best buy is offering $100 off for students on the laptop I'm looking at. It goes for $760 at best buy, but $648/659 (depending on link) on amazon. Am I allowed to use the student discount and price match? It does say "May be combined with other offers" under the student discount.
Will Best Buy be doing the apple student discount where you get a free apple 100$ gift card?
Why is putting student deals on a purchase such a hassle? Do you always have to have the customer sign up, put that item in their cart, and apply the deal? It's such a long process and there are going to be tons of students coming in soon for uni and just want to know if there's an easier way of doing it.
here's what i do and this method has worked 100%.
i ask the client/customer if they have already signed up with Best Buy student deals yet ? most of the time the customer would say "no i haven't", so what i do is i let them use one of our laptops in our department (i like to let them use one of the Alienware laptops near our register coz "BEST GAMING LAPTOP EVER BRO") and then i guide them to make a best buy account and sign up for Student Deals.
should take no more than 2-3 minutes for them to sign up if you guide them the right way. then i ask them to take a picture of their Member ID, and then spank that bad boy Member ID in the register at POS, scan their stuff and boom, you'll see the Student Deal offer on Certificates/Rewards at the end while checking out. I'm happy, they're happy they got their deal, and we live to see another day.
If they sign up for student deals you should be able to ring them out on pos with the discount
