I am an extremely hot sleeper. Spending any time wrapped in a blanket on a mattress makes me sweat. What are some products and brands you absolutely swear by? Would love to sleep through the night without waking up and being overheated
Edit: I sleep in an extremely cold room. Especially in the summer. My AC is cranked. In the winter my heat is low and my windows are open. I just sleep so hot.
Chili pad.
Biggest thing for me was just ditching the comforter unless it's genuinely cold out and there's no heating. I sleep with a sheet or a very light, thin blanket, or sometimes no blankets in the summer.
And my number one rule is no layers. If I do have a comforter, I don't have a sheet. If I have a sheet, I don't have a blanket. Layers trap air between them and really up the heat. Same deal for pajamas.
Also avoid microfiber like the plague.
After posting a few months ago about upgrading my sheets, I ended up going with Cultiver linen and absolutely love my duvet cover and sheet set. With temps on the rise, I am looking to add a lightweight duvet to my bed and am looking for recommendations. So far it seems the lightweight duvets are polyfill with a cotton shell. I am currently looking at the West Elm Cooling Duvet but am open to all first-hand experiences and recommendations.

Hiya! Wondering if anyone can recommend a good comforter for my partner and I? We originally loved the feel of the MUJI comforter but they haven’t restocked their comforters in weeks and we can find anywhere to buy one. We are looking for something very soft that also works well for my partner who is a very hot sleeper! Any recommendations will be very appreciated! :))
I've been looking on reddit and other places online, and have realized its hard to find exactly what I'm looking for. I want a comforter that is not a duvet insert that I don't need to buy a duvet cover for. Other than that, my main requirements are that it is not warm (I'm a hot sleeper), and is machine washable.
I've been reading recommendations about bamboo, silk, or a lower percentage down comforter but I don't care too much about material as long as its soft and sleeps cool.
Final thing I realized I should include is that my budget is ~$200. Does anyone have recommendations or places I should be looking?
My partner and I run very hot at night and can’t seem to find the right comforter. We live in a pretty warm area year round and don’t have A/C or a heater. Our biggest problem is we want something light and fluffy thats soft on your skin, and gives you that ‘hotel cloud comforter’ type feeling, but can also keep us cool in the summers and warmer in the winters. It seems like a lot of the temperature regulating ones are thinner and not always as cozy as you want them to be? I’ve heard of trying a wool one as those seem to be the best for temp, but I’m worried we would get too hot especially in the summers. Appreciate any and all suggestions!!
My partner and I live in an oven of an apartment and we can’t afford the light bill anymore to blast the A.C., so we need to upgrade and invest in a sleeping system that can keep us cool through the night.
We currently have cotton and polyester blend sheets and are looking to change them and our duvet as well.
I keep seeing that silk sheets are recommended for hot sleepers but I don’t know which brand is the best to keep us cool and that doesn’t fall apart after a few washes.
I’m also not sure which direction to go in with the duvet. On one hand I like how comfy really soft duvets are but I also wouldn’t mind something with more weight to it since we both have anxiety. Either way we need something that won’t trap heat. Help please!
Hey everyone.
I recently bought a new duvet cover (cotton percale) and the lightest down comforter I could find. Despite keeping the room at 64 degrees at night, I'm still hot.
What material would you guys recommend for a hot sleeper like me? Cotton insert? Something else?
If you have any specific products in mind, all I want is a king-sized insert that has loops on the corners so I can tie the insert to the drawstrings that are built into the duvet cover.
Thanks you!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who responded. I appreciate all the good suggestions. I ended up buying the Your Moon wool blanket. Checked all the boxes of what I was looking for: All natural materials, corner loops, lightweight will still having some heft, and very reasonably priced.
Used it last night for the for the first time and couldn't have been happoer. It was perfect.
Definitely recommend it for other hot sleepers.
Searching for a cooling comforter that doesn’t trap in heat at night when I sleep. We run the apt ac temp low and have a fan going at night. I still get really hot at night and my comforter doesn’t help. Any recommendations?
So I live in Florida, its hot year around, but I like how it feels to sleep with a comforter. Whats the best lightweight comforter for hot sleepers under $500? Ideally in the $200 range if possible
Hey fellow furnaces of the night! I'm on the hunt for a legit cooling comforter that won't turn into a sweat trap by 2 AM. I've narrowed it down to two options but could use real-user experiences before pulling the trigger.
Option 1: Bedsure Cooling Comforter
Claims to use "3D airflow technology"
Bamboo-derived rayon cover
Medium weight (good for year-round use?)
Option 2: Evercool Comforter
Specifically markets to menopausal women (I'm not one, but if it works...)
"Phase-change" cooling fibers
Lightweight design
About me:
Sleep HOT (like, wake-up-drenched hot)
Mostly a side sleeper
Prefer something that doesn't feel plasticky
Need machine-washable
Not the most conventional question for this page, but has anyone had any luck finding a comforter that doesn’t make you sweat like crazy? I feel like bc it’s summer I get so much hotter easily & this comforter we’ve been using wakes me up at night bc I’m dripping sweat.
Thanks for your help!
It's heating up for the summer where I live and I have started to need to have the AC set to 65º F all night to sleep comfortably. I'd rather not use AC at all or have it set to a more reasonable temperature at least.
My main problem is that I am a pretty hot sleeper. During the winter my Quince all season down comforter and Quince linen duvet cover were great with the windows open to let cool air inside.
I also need to have some weight on me to sleep well, so I can't just get away with my top sheet to be cool. my down comforter is really the perfect weight for me, not too heavy but more weight than a thin poly filled comforter.
Are there any good comforters that will give me that weight without the sweat? I think I would like to try linen sheets as well, if anyone has a favorite brand. Thanks for any recommendations!
Anyone out there a hot sleeper that still gets a little cold/likes to be cozy in bed?? Because that’s me!!
¯_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno, it is what it is haha I just want to be cozy and stop sweating lol
I’m usually a little cold until I fall asleep (I prefer to sleep at 69F/20C), at which point, I start giving off a lot of body heat! My partner is also a hot sleeper!
I’d prefer a natural material over synthetics, if possible! I also like the weight of a heavier duvet, I just get so dang hot! I also currently have a linen duvet cover, if that makes a difference.
Would love to hear any recommendations!!
My partner and I are both hot sleepers but want a fluffy looking comforter or duvet. Ideally something that is also clean, safe and hypoallergenic (trying to avoid plastics, polyester). Any recs? Thanks!!
My title probably covered it all. No matter how low I turn my AC, I wake up sweating. My current comforter and duvet aren't great and I think both have polyester.
I'm an animal lover and can't support down or feather but I really miss the super plush company store down comforters my best friend had when we were kids. Basically I'd like it as plush as possible but not hot.
Does anyone have something like this that they can recommend?
Looking for recs for a nice cooling king size comforter.
My husband and I are roasting each other.
Looking to spend upwards of $250-300
Thanks in advance!
