Usually warm light is based on a lower color temperature, being more orange than blue. If your lights allow for color temperature changes, you can do it there, but some bulbs just have a color temperature you cannot change. I only use higher temperature lights in active areas like the kitchen or in the basement, to get a nice clean white light for doing things. For the living room and bedrooms, I use lower color temperature lighting as it is more calming to me. I also hate overhead lighting as the primary source of light. I like a lot of lamps around the room that are dimmer and create an atmosphere of lighting instead of a primary source for light shining down on me. Answer from chrisbvt on reddit.com
