I really don’t want to buy fast fashion from Amazon, SHEIN, Fashion Nova, etc. However, I don’t have the kind of money to buy from department stores such as Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom. For example, I’m trying to find a cute sweater skirt set, and the paid and organic search results are mostly from SHEIN. I like thrifting, but given my very slim build, it’s usually hard for me to find second hand items that fit well.
Just curios what stores everyone loves! Mainly looking for the ones that aren't the ones everyone already knows, like places in the mall, shein, etc.
Buy Mr Price and you'll buy twice, right? Woolies is usually not bad, if not very fashionable, but sometimes it can be very expensive.
Are some places better than others for specific things too? Like sports clothes? Where do you even go? Cape Union Mart has some nice practical stuff, but again, super expensive...
I'm visiting SA and don't have a lot of summer clothes that fit me anymore after losing weight. That's why I ask...
I absolutely hate shopping in person and live in an area where that’s not really an option anyway but I was just wondering where people find their clothes. I’ll re wear clothes I’ve had for years because I don’t understand how everyone else buys new clothes. I’m in the UK if that matters
I'm 44 and have always found in-store clothes shopping stressful, overstimulating, and frustrating. I'm at the point where I basically buy everything online. Even though I regularly need to return things that don't fit, I don't like etc, I find it easier than in-person shopping. I just can't deal with going from store to store, pushing past hundreds of hangers, trying on dozens of clothes, then walking out empty-handed. It's such an exercise in frustration.
I'm 5'3 and 154LB with a big chest, short waist, and a flat rear so a lot of times, I struggle to find clothing that fits well. I've found myself veering more towards vintage-style pieces.
I get a lot of clothing off Amazon but I also love Quince. I'd love to hear other sites you all love for clothing: good quality, affordable clothing in classic cuts and polished, timeless style that have easy return policies.
only places are shein or depop but they're normally very overpriced on depop and shein is obv not a good place to order from. i have the option of thrift stores but i don't like going out and id rather shop online cause its easier since i only have apple pay (and i don't have to annoy my mom asking her to go to a store.)
I hate the mall. I have mad anxiety in crowds. I love Aritzia and all their style of clothes but I’m starting to think I’m looking like a person who works there as opposed to my own unique style. Any websites you live and use on the reg?
I’m on a deep dive, and came across a website called Onward Crosset. The clothes are so cute, and some things you just can’t find where I live. Could we make a thread of worldwide websites to browse through?
Looking for some recs - I usually use asos but not that familiar anymore with some of the nicer brands on there - any go tos? Any other sites that people are liking?
Want some stylish summer clothes and also some nice work bits ( casual tech office ) but also like to look professional and put together eg smart casual but not too bothered with heels etc
Hey everyone!
I’m trying to refresh my wardrobe a bit and was wondering where you all like to shop for women’s clothing. I’m especially looking for ideas in these categories:
Workwear – things that look polished but aren’t crazy expensive
Everyday / casual – stuff that’s comfy but still cute for running errands, meeting friends, etc.
Vacation / resort – think warm-weather trips, easy dresses, beachy vibes
Shoes – for both style and comfort (bonus if they’re good for being on your feet all day)
I’d love to know your favorite stores—whether it’s big brands, local spots, or online gems. Thanks in advance!
I've decided I'm done buying clothes online. Even if I read the size charts and carefully look at the photos and reviews, the items I buy online never fit correctly and look terrible on me. Then I have to go out of my way and pay money to print a return label and ship the items back, and that's IF I remember to within the return window. And if I buy secondhand items online, I'm even more screwer because I have to try to re-sell them myself and I'll still have lost money.
So other than scouring thrift stores, what are some brick and mortar stores I can search for items like jeans, comfortable casual pants, basic tees, etc? Preferably ones that won't unravel within a couple of wears.
Edit: I live in central Florida. There's tons of stores here I just don't know which ones are good. I live near a TJ Maxx and in the unlikely event they have something that appeals to me, it's either dry clean only or not my size.
I see a lot of Shein-type stores but would like better quality materials and construction. I'm willing to pay more for that but also don't want to break the bank completely.
