Im looking to start learning React and would like recommendations for good tutorials. Preferably some that explain each concept thoroughly with good illustrations. Im familiar with html css and have seen some javascript before but apart from that im an absolute beginner.

I know some people learn much better by videos, especially in the beginner stages. But the react docs may be some of the most beginner friendly and easy to read docs out there. I honestly would just start there and it's totally free. Pick up a tutorial afterwards if you still have questions. https://react.dev/learn

Currently 50% complete in this course and there is already more info in this course than an expensive bootcamp. My suggestion is at every point you start to feel saturated with info to stop and try to create something on your own using what you’ve learned up to that point. Ofc you’ll do code alongs/independ coding/exercises, but personally you still need to practice separately. That is the same for anyway you learn to code.

You can get an udemy course which is instructor by Maximilian Schwazmuller. He taught it very well. It was an excellent basic, advanced react concept, third party, animation and various.

Take a look at those: ui.dev -> has a react course which I did and is amazing! Joshwcomeau.com -> has a great blog and also paid react course, this one is also amazing! I did both. Besides that I like frontendmasters too, they not only have react stuff.

Neither. I've taken both. They are outdated and I've found no better learning material paid or otherwise than the official react docs. Go through all the material on the react docs and move on from there. If you want paid courses I'd recommend getting a sub to frontend masters over udemy courses.

Hi what's the best react course ? I been thinking between Andrew Mead,Maximilian or Jonas Schmedtmann. I read mixed reviews about Maximilian. And I really like Jonas as I done he's HTML and Js course but I don't know how he's React course is. I heard Andrew mead is very good aswell.

Trust me, as someone that had to escape tutorial hell, best way for me to learn is through the docs and trying things out

Jonas. It touches a wide variety of modern libraries and tools used commonly in the React ecosystem, goes into the internal mechanics of how and why things work the way they do in React and has a more fleshed out final project. I think it's also meant to touch on Next.js in a future update.

As part of our companies migration to React, my team and I took the ZTM course "Complete React Developer (w/ Redux, Hooks, GraphQL)" as an intro to the language and concepts.

I found it to be very thorough and enjoyable. The instructor's were clear and easy to understand and the code repos were extremely helpful along the way.

The content has been updated several times since, and the course not only including React basics, but also content in several other topis, such as Netlify, Firebase and Stripe.

I really enjoyed how they built up the project, they continued to enhance it by using different coding strategies. For example it was coed originally using js - then converted to typescript.

FWIW, I find it very concerning that it claims to be "fully updated for 2024", and yet: It says "Redux", but doesn't mention Redux Toolkit it's specifically referring to learning "Redux Thunk" (which still exists and is used, but shouldn't be considered a separate skill per se because it's part of Redux Toolkit today) It mentions Redux Saga (which we have specifically been advising against using for years , _especially for data fetching). That to me looks like the Redux section is likely very outdated. It'll work, and the concepts are valid, but we've been teaching RTK as the standard way to use Redux since 2020.

I've been learning from Maximilian Schwarzmüller's React course for a couple of weeks now and damn he makes things confusing. He's always going back and forth on how you should write code etc. I'm trying to persevere with his course but struggling to learn from him. I feel if I keep trying to push through his course, I'll just be even more confused and everything I would've "learnt" would be a blank. I've been told to have a look at Stephen Grider's course (he updated it recently) as well as Colt Steele's course, but I'm open to other courses.

Don't get me wrong, I think Max is an excellent developer and he knows his stuff, but I struggle to learn from him.

I've seen this question asked before, but the responses tend to be beginner courses from Udemy.

Are there any really good intermediate to advanced React courses? Especially courses that get to the point rather than painfully dragging the content out over 30 hours.

I mean, I don't mind if the course is 30hrs, but I'm looking for a course that moves quickly and gets to the point without all the fluff. Explains advanced concepts and gets you ready to the be the best React developer on the team (well maybe not the best React dev on the team, but you know what I mean).

Is there anything that hits the mark?

Pushing through that wall of figuring it out has so much upside and this is how it's going to be if you end up doing this professionally.
