I can transfer money to my bank account to pay my bills although I would like to be able to actually see the pending transfer - it doesn't show up on my bank app either so I think that's just how it works lol but I can freeze my card through the app in case I ever lose it, which is really cool.

r/AmericanExpress on Reddit: American EXPRESS BLUEBIRD HUGE HUGE PROBLEM, BEWARE!!!
June 2, 2023 -

Hi I'm trying to receive some help or to warn others of what could happen with BLUEBIRD PREPAID CARDS!!! THIS is what's going on, this started back in July 2021, when BLUEBIRD unexpectedly cursed my account and l sent me a check for the remaining funds, and $4600. I then after receiving the check, proceeded to use Fidelitys mobile deposit into my brokerage account. It was going just fine for like a week, then Fidelity froze my account because y they were wanting to verify The Bluebird check I deposited, and froze up all the money, because they later told me they never had heard of bluebird Prepaid Cards. Since then I have sent all documents Fidelity requested, multiple times, multiple phone calls, till they finally said if BLUEBIRD would do a recall on the check, they would send the funds back to Bluebird, so they can reissue a new check. I call Bluebird about this and tell them what Fidelity was wanting to do, but they said No, because they aren't sure how to do that!!!? Now I've had$4600, stuck in Fidelity for over 2 years, stuck at both ends, PLEASE HELP ME BLUEBIRD, I JUST NEED THE CHECK RECALLED, THEY WILL SEND THE MONEY BACK AND YOU CAN SEND A NEW CHECK, PLEASE!!!!

I recently also experienced what I believe is possibly a scam by American Express Bluebird. I signed up for the American Express Bluebird pre-paid card, and activated it when they sent it to me. I then added funds to the account through my bank, and then placed the card into my wallet and never used it. A few days later they sent me an email saying I was in “violation” of the terms of the agreement, even though I never used the card. They also said the card and account had been locked. I called them several times to find out what was going on, but they would not discuss the account details with me, period, leaving me completely in the dark as to what had happened. I also had no access to my funds and could not even see my account because it was locked online. They also could not tell me which part of the agreement I was in violation of. Instead, they said I had to write in to a PO Box in Georgia, and that they would then reply to me by email (convenient for them, but not for me, the consumer). I find it outrageous, that a company can lock my account and hold my money hostage without explanation, except to say that I had violated some unspecified part part of a subsection of the agreement. On top of this, they only give you 10 days to provide them a written letter of inquiry. I’m assuming this timeline means that if they don’t receive the letter within 10 days, that it somehow disqualifies the inquiry. And since it’s a PO Box that you have to send the letter to, there is no way for to send it via certified mail to ensure that they received it. I will be contacting American Express, my bank, and the consumer affairs board for my state to file complaints. I can only assume at this point that I will not get my money back, while American Express Bluebird is allowed to confiscate it and add it as revenue received to their business account.

Blue bird is literally falling apart at the seams. I have had this card for probably more than 10 years at this point and the last few months they have stalled some of my bill payments and transfers. Today I noticed that the transfer that I made doesn't even show up in my account anymore. If I didn't get a screenshot I wouldn't have proof that it even happened.
