The Bose Portable Speaker Is Best For Portable Music
November 12, 2024 - Before I bought the Bose, I was using my TV’s speakers, and the Bose turned out to be a significant upgrade over them. They elevate my TV viewing experience5. This is a pleasant surprise — I didn’t expect such a small, portable, mono speaker to be able to do this.

Bose Portable Smart Speaker
The Bose Portable Smart Speaker lives up to its name and has impressive bass for its size, but its pricey and lacking in streaming services. A straightforward name for a pretty straightforward speaker.

This is a fantastic speaker. It's not cheap but I think it's worth the price.
Mate this is an amazing speaker. I got on a steal for 200 quid in 2020. It’s so versatile and has a great sound signature More on reddit.com

Bose portable home smart speaker: brief review
Went from Arc 5.0 to Bose 500 5.1 (for cheaper at 50% off), way better sound, connectivity and build quality. Bose makes quality products and you won’t regret it. More on reddit.com

Bose Portable Home Speaker Reviews?
I just came back from a 4 hours listening marathon at the local store, comparing over 10 speakers. The Portable Home Speaker narrowly edges out the Home Speaker 300 while both are definitely outclassed by the Home Speaker 500. The Soundtouch 10 is more directional and no competition for either speaker. If the Bose Home Speaker 500 is a gun consider the Sonos Move to be a tank, the bass response from that 3kg speaker could probably break windows! It appears as if the Portable Home Speaker is a slightly revised Revolve+ with a third passive radiator and WIFI built in. The new charging cradle enables you to place the speaker blind (check pictures) Soundwise the Portable Home Speaker has clearer highs but also less base at higher volumes than the Revolve+ (interestingly the DSP of the Revolve+ has been reprogrammed to a similar behaviour with its latest 3.04 firmware which led to many complains, my test Revolve+ was still running at 1.5) The Portable Home Speaker also looks slightly less rugged yet more elegant on the table. That being said if you already own the Revolve+ and want a big step up in performance the Portable Home Speaker isn't what you're looking for and if you don't need the WIFI stuff a second Revolve+ may be a better deal because they can play stereo together (Soundlink and Home Speaker series are incompatible and have different apps!). Also consider the price difference (currently 220€ vs. 370€ at Amazon.de!) If you need a speaker "to rule them all" check out the Sonos Move, it's a walking powerhouse but at 3 times the weight and it looks kinda ugly (IMO) More on reddit.com

People also ask

Does the Bose Portable Smart Speaker get loud?

For its size, the speaker gets rather loud. Indoors, it could power through a small party, and outdoors you’ll enjoy some background tunes. But if you really want lots of volume, you’d have to pair it to another compatible Bose speaker.

How does the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ II compare to the Bose Portable Smart Speaker?

The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ II is not technically a smart speaker, but it has a button and microphone for accessing your smartphone’s native smart assistant. The SoundLink Revolve+ II has an IP55 rating and, like the Portable Smart Speaker, is meant to be taken out and about. It’s a similar size to the SoundLink Revolve+ II, though a bit sleeker and lighter. If you buy one of each speaker model, you’ll be able to connect them via Bose SimpleSync.

How does the Bose Portable Smart Speaker compare to the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ II?
The Bose Portable Smart Speaker has noticeably more powerful acoustic performance than the SoundLink Revolve+ II and is a bit larger, with a different visual design. Both products work as a Bluetooth speaker in any environment, but when you bring the Portable Smart Speaker onto a Wi-Fi network, it also works as a smart speaker with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa – plus all the other features of a Bose smart speaker (Bose Music app compatibility, synchronising multiple speakers, AirPlay 2 and more). The SoundLink Revolve+ II does not have any built-in voice assistants, smart features or Wi-Fi
