I have both right now. There are pros and cons for both so it depends what is important to you. Quiet Comfort 1 versus 2… Great Noise canceling - I don’t notice a difference between them, they are both the best earbuds I have found for noise canceling and I have tried all the high end earbuds Ear fit is customizable - both 1 and 2 fit my ears fine, but not my husband’s ears. He couldn’t wear them without them falling out. He end up buying the Sport version. (They provide 3 wing size options so you can pick the best fit for your ears but ver 2 actually let’s you choose the size for both the wing and also the earbud piece, so you can combine them however you like) Case size - Version 1 has a big case and they don’t fit great in pockets or small purses. Version 2 case is closer to the iPad Pro size. Also note that the version 2 earbuds are smaller in your ears. I am fine with both sizes and don’t prefer one over the other in regards to earbud size. Battery life - From what I researched, version 2 has a longer charge but I can use my version 1 almost the entire day with noise canceling and then put them back in the case to charge. I charge the case 3 times a week. I haven’t tried doing this with version 2 yet. Wireless Charging - version 1 case can charge wirelessly but version 2 does not. This was the DEAL BREAKER for me. I love the smaller case for version 2 but I love more just laying my devices on a charging pad and not having to go find the cord and plug them in. I am returning the version 2 I got on Black Friday for $250. I will wait for their next version that adds wireless charging. Answer from Admirable-Fly-8252 on reddit.com

October 30, 2022 -
How do the 1.0 and 2.0 versions of Bose's QuietComfort earbuds compare? The 1.0s are on sale so it's 180$ for the 1.0s and 280$ for the 2.0s. Are the 2.0s worth the extra money in your opinion and why?

Worth upgrading from first gen QC Earbuds to QC Earbuds II?
I was disappointed with my QC 2 buds initially. No multipoint, no wireless charging, no easily readable battery status display on the case, you have to place the buds in the case to pair them, etc.. - certainly several shortfalls or downgrades there. However, I left my QC 2 buds at work this week and have been working from home. I am using by QC 1 buds for music, exercise and TV .....and I really miss the sound quality and ANC of the new buds.... I am driving to the office today to collect them. It's definitely worth it. EDIT: I have used by QC 1 buds literally every day for two years for work, exercise, commute and TV, and they're still going strong. I expect to do the same with the new buds.... love them. What do the Multi-Dimensional Audio Quality Scores mean?
- Timbre (MOS-T) represents how faithfully the headphones reproduce the frequency spectrum and temporal resolution (timing information).
- Distortion (MOS-D) represents non-linearities and added noise: higher scores mean cleaner reproduction.
- Immersiveness (MOS-I) represents perceived source width and positioning: how well virtual sound sources are defined in three-dimensional space.

October 24, 2022 - The older QC Earbuds claim six hours from a single charge, with two extra charges for a total of 18 hours. It's just a shame that neither of the Bose buds offer wireless charging, as found on rivals such as the five-star Sony WF-1000XM4. ... They are noticeably smaller, for starters. This is the first pair of in-ear Bose headphones that don’t stick OUT. The quality of the sound is quite nice—depth, hi-lo range, and yes, good, crisp bass too. Lastly, and for me, most critical—they fit snugly in both ears and don’t feel like they’re ‘just about’ to fall out. It’s definitely worth experimenting with the supplied wings and silicon gel buds. The matching Bose app (iOS and Android) will help you figure out which ones fit just right. I own earbuds from Jabra, Sony, Apple, and these are my new favorites.

QC 2s are smaller, have a smaller case, have better ANC. The QC 2 fit for me was worse and I found that they were less comfortable than the original QC Earbuds. The QC2 buds DO NOT wirelessly charge (the original QCs do). Are they worth the extra $50? That's subjective. I returned mine, but only after some debate.

I'll save that value debate for ... 2's strengths (or QuietComfort Earbuds II, as Bose calls them), along with a few weaknesses. But if you can afford them, these are certainly strong competitors against Apple's AirPods Pro 2 and Sony's WF-1000XM4, the latter of which have ...

January 15, 2025 - On the Sonys, you don’t get all the controls unless you use both earbuds. And finally, the Bose’s spatial audio and head tracking works anywhere, not the Sony’s which are restricted to certain Android devices and apps. The AirPods Pro 2 is similar to the Bose in terms of controls, because it also lets you access all the controls using just one earbud.
