Have you considered the Chicco Fit360 rotating seat? I have it in my crossover and there is still enough room for my 6ft husband to comfortably sit in the seat in front of it. I believe it has one of the more compact rotating seats but also on the high end of height and weight allowances for baby. It’s also greenguard certified! Answer from pizza_queen9292 on reddit.com

r/beyondthebump on Reddit: Chicco OneFit vs Britax One4life - or something else?
April 24, 2024 -

I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide on a car seat! We currently have the Chicco Keyfit 35 and love it, but my LO is about ready to graduate. I think I've narrowed my search to these two - although I'm open to suggestions.

I originally wanted a rotating seat, but I drive a Ford Escape and the car seat experts warn that any rotating seat will likely be too big.

Flame retardant free is important to me, so I knocked out all Gracos (even though a lot of them otherwise look great).

I like that the Britax has the option for an anti-rebound bar, that the rear facing weight limit is higher, and the height limit is higher as well. BUT my hesitations are that on Baby Gear Lab it did not score well in crash test rating. I know all car seats are minimally safe, but of course I'd prefer above the minimum if I can! I also don't like that the seat uses the hook style LATCH connectors instead of the push on style. I imagine that's to encourage people to use the seat belt to install, but I REALLY dislike the hook style and it's annoying that a high end car seat would come with that style!

The Chicco one has the lower weight and height limits, but scored well on Baby Gear Lab. That scoring has me leaning towards the Chicco, but I don't know if I should rely so heavily on one website.

If anyone has any experience with these - or any recommendations for a different seat that is not too deep, is flame retardant free, and has good crash test ratings - I would love any feedback you could provide!

Baby Gear Lab it did not score well in crash test rating These are third party tests anyways - don't worry about them at all. I could easily create my own "tests" and say that one seat is better than another. I'd personally skip an all-in-one seat. There are many reasons why they just don't work well for most, but it mainly comes down to the fact that most people will want another seat that works for their situation at the time later on. Have you ever seen the boosters on an all-in-one seat? They are so insanely bulky when you compare them to a regular convertible car seat. Additionally, you really don't save any money using an all-in-one seat. A stand alone no-back booster is like $40, and again, super slim and barely takes up any space. So I'd go with a convertible car seat and then just buy a high-back booster or no-back booster down the road. You'll thank yourself later, I promise! Safeintheseat has a good breakdown if you scroll down to the all-in-one section. They do work for some, but not most. The Chicco NextFit Max ClearTex Extended Use basically fits all of your requirements. Rear faces to 50 pounds, flame retardant free, and has the lower anchor connections you like (I 100% agree with you on that lol). The Nuna Rava also sounds like it could be a good option!

September 23, 2024 - The One4Life includes a steel frame, EPS foam, and SafeCell technology. While none of these features are required as part of the FVMSS213/CMVSS213 federal safety standards, Britax has a long history of working to exceed those requirements in as many ways as possible.SafeCell is the red honeycomb-like plastic on the sides of the seat. It is designed to act as a crumple zone during a crash.
