You can't download Canon Log as a standalone feature. The only way to get it is by buying a camera with the feature built-in or downloading a free firmware update for supported Canon cameras.

Canon Log is an algorithm designed by Canon, that squeezes the dynanic range of the RAW sensor output into the video image before compression and image formation, giving a flat looking file (because the highlights are lowered and shadows are highered). What EOSHD so called C-log is, is a picture style applied after the compression and dynamic range has already been set to the exact same number as Neutral -4 Contrast.

All the knowledge we gained with ALEV3 over the years led to the advancements in color science which ultimately materialized in REVEAL and facilitated LogC4. We can fit images from ALEV3 into the new pipeline, but not the other way around. Please head to the Downloads for in-depth white papers.

Canon Log was first introduced in 2011 for the Canon EOS C300 and through the years different versions of Canon Log have been added to an ever-increasing number of Canon cameras including (but not limited to) the EOS C400, EOS R5 Mark II, EOS R50 V, PowerShot V1 and EOS R5 C (pictured).
