Business Casual Inspiration Album
The essential point of bizcaz is that whatever you're wearing, it be appropriate for business. If you have an employer that describes the dress code as business casual, I think that actually eliminates a lot of what you have here. Naked ankles, casual rumpled jackets, colorful pocket squares, and frankly most expressive forms can be discarded. Furthermore, an odd jacket with trousers and a necktie veers so close to business formal it may similarly be discarded in my mind. Most of this, if it can be pigeonholed into a style, I would describe as #menswear "casual"; the kind of thing I was certain I would be wearing on weekends "once I have the money". Let's be honest; business casual is boring. That's ok. We don't all have to be peacocks at work. Nothing wrong at all with this album, but describing it as #menswear is probably a lot more intellectually honest. Edit; I'm going to further expand this after mulling it over for a couple moments. We should draw a line between two different concepts; dress codes and aesthetics. I would quite confidently say that business casual can be described as a dress code. Like "black tie" or "business formal", when you use it as a descriptor, you can be fairly confident of the type of dress that will be on display. On the other hand, something like #menswear or, say, streetwear, can be described as an aesthetic. A coherent system of dress that operates outside of a dress code and relates (in some cases) to one's place in the world, their interests, what they hope to convey to others, or just what they find visually stimulating. Now many aesthetics can have elements or outfits that can be successfully deployed in various dress codes. But to confuse the two is a bit troublesome. I think maybe, in an effort to explore the room one has to experiment in business casual, you may have conflated them somewhat. More on reddit.com

Looking for Visual Examples of Basic Men's Outfit Combinations
One possible issue with your idea is that the clothes also need to fit properly. I would create a fresh Pinterest account and start collecting photos of models with approximately your body type / general type who wear clothes in a style that you can get behind. Pinterest will then start suggesting similar photos, providing you with an almost endless stream of working combinations. With all that newfound knowledge, you would be able to make more educated purchasing decisions. More on reddit.com

Simplicity is best. A good fitting button down, slim but not tight chinos and thoughtful accessories like a nice watch. Color theory is gonna be your friend here. You can elevate this with a casual jacket and good shoes. More on reddit.com

June 26, 2017 - You are free to wear tan khakis and a black golf shirt if you want, I think I know better than you do, but it's just my opinion. ... OP, go see Ask Andy FORUMS , lots of good advice. Remember, "business casual" is a term invented by Levi's when they launched the Dockers brand.

December 30, 2014 -

EDIT/WARNING: THOSE LOOKING FOR JEANS AND POLOS TURN BACK, FOR I HAVE BEEN BRANDED A SIREN AND THOUST'S PRECIOUS MOMENTS SHALL BE DASHED UPON THE ROCKS, GAZING ONLY ON SPORT COATS, TIES, AND FINE FOOTWEAR.

Someone asked for a business casual inspiration album a few days ago on here. I've been collecting photos for a while on some of my favorite blogs and dumped some on Imgur to share.

Now, business casual is one of the most expansive hotly contested types of dress in menswear, and thus its most poorly defined. I have two (major) rules when it comes to business casual: no suits and no jeans. "But CandiedKeynes," you may cry, "you can wear jeans in business casual settings!" I disagree, and my employer disagrees, but to keep those Americana-obsessed philistines amongst us appeased, I've included a few shots with their beloved denim. I even threw in a few polos too for good measure. If that doesn't do it for you: tough. Harden the fuck up, or go round up your own set of pictures of men wearing belts and polos -- such a task would drive me insane.

For the rest of us, I hope you can use this album to get some new ideas for color and pattern combinations to help bring some pizzazz to the daily tedium of donning one's armor for the relentless metaphysical brutality that is corporate 9-5. (Or 6, or 7, or 8, ya poor bastards.)

Finally, I would be remiss were I not to cite all the photos in the album. I encourage anyone interested in these photos to explore these blogs to their fullest. They are:

-The Armoury

-Voxsartoria

-P Johnson Tailors

-Dieworkwear!

-Drake's of London

-The Most Exerent Brog

I have also snagged some pics from Styleforum members Cleghorn, ONBD, RDiaz, and emiristol.

I hope you enjoy.

Here is the album

Edit: To the haters, business casual is a marketing scheme cleverly thought up by Dockers in the 90s to sell more chinos. Think on that when picking which polo to wear tomorrow!

Edit2: To the haters of sport coats, let's all use our imaginations and think about what these fits would look like when the jacket is hanging off the back of your desk chair.

I feel like every six months or so someone makes another 'bizcaz inspo album' and they always fuck it up because there's always an emphasis on "don't you think bizcaz is boring and stuffy??? well I'M here to show you IT'S NOT" and that's like... the exact... wrong... attitude. Business casual is boring for a reason. It's what you wear to look 'good' without looking ostentatious or peacocky. It's the baseline 'dressing well' that is expected of a business situation without drawing attention to oneself.

Or brown pants with a white shirt can be a simple casual outfit. For a more modern look try different shades of grey, dark gray pants with a light gray shirt is a clean look you can't go wrong with.

Instead, when denim is appropriate, think clean lines and zero distressing. Dark wash or raw denim with minimal embellishments is your safest bet. Style with a crisp smart-casual shirt and shoes to pull the whole thing together.

September 29, 2025 - Business casual is a way of dressing that’s more relaxed than formal business wear, but still comes across as professional. At its core, it’s all about walking the line between what you wear on a weekend and what you might’ve worn if you were a midcentury executive.

February 17, 2025 - Mastering business casual starts with understanding your workplace environment. Just as a car’s emblem defines its brand, every office has an unspoken dress code that sets the tone. Some offices favor a polished look with chinos and button-ups, while others allow jeans and polos for a more relaxed feel. Observe what your colleagues wear—do blazers dominate, or is a crisp shirt enough?

r/malefashionadvice on Reddit: Looking for Visual Examples of Basic Men's Outfit Combinations
September 24, 2024 -

I hope this doesn’t come across as lazy, but that’s not my intention.

I have many t-shirts, though I’ve stopped wearing some due to weight gain. I only have one pair of skinny jeans, and I’m unsure how to mix and match my clothes effectively.

I’m hoping to find a visual example of basic outfit combinations for men that I can use as a starting point, like a cheat sheet. I know many people here enjoy putting outfits together, but I personally find it difficult and often talk myself out of it.

I want to buy more pants, but I think it would be easier to see examples of what types of pants or shorts work well with different shirts and colors.

I know there are a ton of sources for outfit inspiration, but I'm more looking for bare-bones, basic outfit combinations. It's like if someone made a combination guide for only clothes from H&M or ASOS. Does something like that exist?

EDIT: I just came across the website Lookastic. It might be what im looking for, but im still open to other suggestions.
