Zoldering, Choux, or Café de Klepel
Klepel is by far the cutest of the restaurants. Great location too in the canal belt near the lovely Noordermarkt. Essentially they serve the dish that the chef has cooked up that day. Great cooking but not ‘fancy contemporary technique cooking’. Love the place. Classic wines. Choux is excellent fine dining. Wonderful natural wines. Veggie forward. Location is a bit random next to central station. Hip crowd. Zoldering also lovely and nice location at the foot of the wonderful Utrechtsestraat. Attracts a posh crowd. More on reddit.com

I absolutely loved Flore in Amsterdam but wasn’t a fan of de Kaas at all. The service at the latter was super hit and miss, the presentation was lacking and on top of everything else it was just super chilly in the restaurant. More on reddit.com

These places seem quite similar. Wondering if anyone has a preference and why? I lean towards Zoldering because of the Star, but I cannot decide. Help!

Having been to Choux and Zoldering...Zoldering. Choux was fantastic, don't get me wrong. And if you're with a veggie person then this is what I'd pick. I treated a veggie friend and she was in 7th heaven LOL But Zoldering has both great food and more gezelligheid, better ambiance. So I'd pick Zoldering. Edit: If you have somebody that doesn't drink alcohol in the group then I'd lean Choux again. They have some super interesting non alcoholic options. At Zoldering last time I went my options were sparkling water with cucumber or cola, basically. It's the only thing I find disappointing there. They might have improved this since though. Zoldering has a good wine list
