I think it's a function of water pressure and, perhaps, sink depth (with shallow being more problematic). My Cento is installed over a typical depth kitchen sink and there is no splashing, but I can see if one had higher water pressure and opened the faucet on full blast that splashing might occur, and more so in a shallow sink.

I’m looking for a kitchen faucet and I came across this [Hansgrohe Cento](https://www.costco.com/hansgrohe-cento-kitchen- faucet.product.100156704.html). I also came across this Hansgrohe Cento Semi-Pro
What are the reasons why a pre-rinse kitchen faucet is better? Does it have better build quality and functionality? Will it last longer?
Also, are these faucets I’m looking at good quality?

First, Hans Grohe is quality stuff. I've used both types, a lot, in enough different kitchens to have a feel for this. I think the Semi-Pro actually gives a much better user experience - you just grab it free of the support and can start spraying where you want, then just click it back on. Meanwhile, the regular Cento is like all the slide out ones, you kinda grab the spout part and pull out and down and then your hand goes back to the right position to spray - it's a fraction of a second, but they add up. And, to put it back in, well, partially depends on how well it was installed, but sometimes you kinda have to shake the hose back in - at the very least, you have to move your hand so the hose lines up and wants to retract. It's subtle, but if you're using it a lot, it does matter. So, why make the regular Cento? Aesthetics - unless you are actually going for the commercial kitchen vibe, the small reduction in user experience is more than made up for by the sleeker look.
