Has anyone tried this smokeless fire pit? Is it really smoke free? I can’t find reviews anywhere.. I think it’s on for $500 at my local Costco.

The basic principle is fairly sound, cold air enters through external holes at the bottom of the liner, heats up and exits through internal holes at the top of the liner. This pushes the smoke back into the fire which allows a second combustion to occur (of the suspended particulate) and effectively “burns the smoke”.
It’s not 100% perfect but it should produce a lot less smoke than a traditional fireplace.

Hi all, looking for feedback on your Costco fire pits. Been going back and forth on fire burning (ie, Hot Shot) vs gas pit (ie, Sunbeam wine barrel one or others). Did a good amount of research but can’t decide.
We just moved into a new house and don’t want to be “that annoying” neighbor with burning smoke. Watched reviews with the HotShot still giving off smoke but can’t tell how bothersome that’d be for neighbors.
The gas pits - a bit concerned if they last long term due to upkeep with the gas burners.
Would appreciate any feedback. They’re an expensive purchase so thinking Costco is safest for returns if needed. Thanks!

Not sure if it’s the same brand but I’ve had the wine barrel gas one from Costco for about 6 years and no issues!

Two points to consider with gas pits: 1. They don't get as hot as wood fires; 2. The typical gas pit is rated at 50,000 BTU, meaning a 20 lb tank of propane will provide an average 6-8 hour burn time. If you intend to use the fire pit frequently or for long periods, it may get rather expensive. Besides the burner, the composition of the pit itself will determine its useful life. Aluminum pits will last practically forever. Concrete blend pits will last for many years. Resin (basically molded plastic) pits will only last for a few years at most.
