CRA Payroll Calculator
These are not errors. Reverse engineer the math: Federal difference is $150 - $142.11 = $7.89, times 26 periods = $205.14, divide by 15% credit rate = $1,368 which is the Canada employment amount. Ontario difference is $62.04 - $50.50 = $11.54, times 26 periods = $300 which is the Ontario health premium on income between $25k and $36k. The withholding rates are based on tables set out in regulations. There is no need to second guess the government calculations. More on reddit.com

CRA Payroll Deductions Online Calculator Has Been Updated with 2025 Rates
It seems to be buggy. I am running 2025 calculations and it's still reporting CPP deductions with the 2024 (5.45% rates) vs 2025 (5.95% rates). I double checked my pay periods as well. More on reddit.com

It depends on pay period. For monthly 3500/12, biweekly 3500/26, bi monthly 3500/24, etc. Hope that's what you meant. More on reddit.com

Is the Payroll Deductions Online Calculator accepted as paystub?
Paystubs are a legal requirement in Canada ( https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/l-2/page-38.html ). Lenders will get very skittish when they’re not in a format they’re used to. A job letter (ie: employer writing a note on their letterhead explaining the detail of your employment) may help get the lender comfortable with them. That said, I’ve seen situations where lender decides that lack of paystubs in a certain form casts doubt on the employers ability to continue as a going concern, and therefore they did not count the income for a mortgage. r/cantax on Reddit: CRA Payroll Calculator
February 8, 2023 -

Greetings All,

I have uncovered some inconsistencies while using the CRA Payroll calculator (Backstory we are implementing a new ERP and the payroll component is not "Adding Up").

I have reduced the calculator to what I'm calling barebones, CC0 for both Federal and Provincial TD1 Deductions and no CPP and no EI deductions... so to my understanding this should equate to only having the federal and provincial income tax calculated.

I used $1000/biweekly(26 Pays/year) which keeps the annual tax rate for both in the first tier of tax rates IE 15% Federal and 5.05% provincial ...

So my calculations have it at $150 for Federal and $50.50 for Provincial.

The online calculator has is $142.11 Federal and $62.04 provincial which is even more mind boggling as they are in different directions regarding the error amounts IE federal is lower and provincial is higher.

TIA if anyone has any insight into this
