This is done to draw your attention to each individual piece, instead of keeping the format in a very linear layout and losing the edginess and individuality of each separate article. The overall layout used for functionality, navigation and presentation was extremely effective and also proved to be very easy to figure out. What I found interesting is that there was very little product placement or trying to push sales of the magazine.

December 6, 2025 - Dazed was begun by Jefferson Hack, and Rankin while they were studying at London College of Printing (now London College of Communications). Beginning as a black-and-white folded poster the magazine soon turned full colour and was promoted at London club nights.

The stark, industrial shapes of Monument are used to great effect. The more extreme, anti-design aspects of the layouts are mostly limited to headlines and short pull quotes.

September 20, 2023 - Dedicated to a new wave of young, talented and hopeful individuals, the New Gen issue is full of stories that speak to the urgency of the current moment. At a time when people’s rights are being undermined and taken away, how can youth culture respond? For the issue, I challenged the team and myself to produce imagery that speaks of newness in Dazed, yet remains timeless at the same time.
