Hi, pattern 2 amber, 4 white is for Memory or RAM failure. First thing i would try is reseating RAM. Second thing i would do is flea power release: Flea power is the residual static electricity that remains on the computer even after it has been powered off and the battery has been removed. The following procedure provides the instructions on how to conduct flea power release: Turn off your computer. Remove the base cover. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain the flea power. Replace the base cover. Turn on your computer. Dell forgot to add up one step for this ( its to unplug battery doing flee power release) Third thing i would do is hold power button for 30 seconds ( more on link bellow): https://www.dell.com/support/article/si/en/sibsdt1/sln304892/how-to-reset-real-time-clock-rtc-to-recover-your-dell-portable-system?lang=en Also try this if your product is supported: http://dell.to/2u4vSud The HDD and DATA should be unharmed as it doesnt have anything to do with above troubles. 4 white-2 amber is a memory failure. Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the system board. Hold the power button for 30 sec. Reconnect the battery, replace the cover and see if the system will then POST and boot. If the same error occurs, the memory is bad. On this model, the memory is not replaceable - you must replace the system board. Hopefully, the system is under warranty - if it is, contact Dell. If it is out of warranty, you're facing a repair bill of $600+ just for the board, plus labor.

r/DellXPS on Reddit: 2 Amber + 4 White Flashes - XPS 13 (9305)
September 10, 2022 -
I unfortunately have a RAM problem (2 amber flashes followed by 4 white flashes) on my XPS 13 9305. First instance, I opened up the back, disconnected the battery and held the power button for several seconds and then the system booted back up.
After working for a few hours I had some more BSODs and now it won't boot with the same flashing sequence.
I no longer have a warranty on the system and I am aware that the RAM is soldered on to the motherboard on these XPS 13. Just wondering how to go about fixing the problem and how much a motherboard replacement might cost. I'm based in the UK.
Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same problem where my computer would only boot up to a black screen (screen works fine though if you test it with D+pwr button). I swapped my ram stick into the other slot (I had 1 stick of ram but 2 slots) and was getting 2 amber and 4 white. Then I cleaned the ram stick and ram slots with canned air, reinserted the RAM and it worked fine after that. I'm not sure if the stick or the slot had gotten dirty but if one of them does, it bricks your computer.

(Solution for models with removable RAM sticks) · The issue you're experiencing is due to the CPU overheating, which causes the solder connections on the "SLOT A" memory RAM to become soft and detach from the motherboard. · When you disassemble your laptop, you may notice melted rosin or flux residue. · Unfortunately, there isn't a permanent fix for this. · One temporary solution is to apply pressure to the top of the RAM holders to try and secure a good connection, which might prevent the laptop from displaying the "2 amber + 4 white" error code. · However, the best option is to use "SLOT B" and upgrade the memory stick in that slot. I hope this helps! · Gosh

That blink code is caused by a bad battery or by using a non Dell battery. Either replace the battery or if you are using a 3rd party battery replace it with a genuine Dell battery.
