I was looking to get a luxury diaper bag for our baby girl that we are welcoming here soon.. it’s been a rough pregnancy and my plan was to treat myself to a luxury diaper bag. I had looked around previously by myself and the one I liked the most was the large Dior Toujours bag. I did some research online and saw some women say they were using the Chanel 25 so I went with my husband today to see if could compare the two. We started at Dior and I still loved the Toujours and we ended at Chanel… Well, I walked out with a Chanel Caviar Quilted XXL Travel Flap Bag… I never thought I would have the opportunity to buy this bag after seeing people recommend it as a diaper bag online and then discovering Chanel wasn’t making it anymore… well, they are and that’s what we landed on today. My dilemma is how nice the bag is, it’s gorgeous but it feels SO extra.. I know a Dior is also extra but this feels next level and now I’m torn on whether or not to keep it. It feels special because I never thought it would be an option but I want to make sure I use it enough to justify the purchase. The Toujours I felt I could dress down a little more since it was more subtle and there is no subtlety to the Travel bag.. my husband also ended up being the one to purchase it as my push present which wasn’t the original plan.. just wondering if anyone could share their thoughts or opinion on the situation because I’m feeling a bit of buyers remorse..

Just remember that you’ll at some point you may have to put a literal poopy diaper inside the bag. Are you sure you don’t want something more utilitarian?

Why not just buy a true utilitarian diaper bag and then buy a treat on the side? Like (hypothetically) if under armor sold the most hard-core, extra convenient, tailored to schleping a baby bag there was, why not just buy that and then hit up lv, hermes, gucci, or whoever else? Lots of brands make great bags, but why get baby stuff all over it?

First time mom here! I’m looking for a backpack diaper bag and willing to invest up to $400 or so, but I realize I may not need to spend that much. I’m getting a lot of ads for Dagne Dover and my one complaint with my DD purses is that the zipper is very secure but can be tough to open. I’m sure that would be annoying if I only have one hand! Please share your tried and true recs!!

I’d get something cheap and then see how you use it before investing. I personally never used a diaper bag. I use a regular large tote style purse and then have pouches with different baby stuff in them. So like a pouch for feeding supplies, a pouch with diapers and wipes, a pouch with extra clothes.
