Keeping US bank account (Discover bank) after moving to Canada from US
Be aware of you are a CDN based employee, they have to pay you on CDN payroll (either through CDN operations or a CDN payroll service). Since you will be in Canada full time remote employer, you are supposed to have CPP and EI deducted form your pay. And since you will be a CDN resident, you will pay CDN taxes on your US income, so better to request a conversion to CDN payroll.

Discover banking? Opinions?
Hello all,
I'm planning on moving back to Canada from the US as my employer is allowing me to work remotely. I'm a Canadian citizen but working in the US on a TN visa.
Just wondering if anyone has experience keeping their US bank account after moving to Canada. I currently have a Discover bank account but I'm not sure if they allow people to keep their accounts after moving outside of the US. I'm thinking of signing up for a TD cross border account so that I can keep a US bank account for taxes and bills.

Keep your USD account. If you have USD you won’t get hosed with exchange and transaction fees every time you need it.
Hey guys, just wanted to know what your thoughts and opinions are on Discover Banking? Is it a pretty good checking account? Any problems or anything? I want a bank account but just not sure who I should go with. Any perks to Discover Banking? Any downsides? Just wanting to hear from people that use it themselves or have had an experience with it.
