Hi!
In order to get the Discover Savings account opening bonus of 150$/200$ on a deposit of 15k/25k USD within the first 30 days, What is the minimum holding period of that deposit in the account? Am I allowed to use the funds once the requirement is met?

Balance needs to stay at/over the 15k or 25k threshold through 10/30 to get the bonus...at least that's what I read... assuming the funding cut off was 9/30. Should double check the written correspondence you received to know what applies to your situation.

The terms for me were actually kind of vague: "To get your $150 or $200 Bonus: What to do: Apply for your first Discover Online Savings Account, online, in the Discover App or by phone. Enter Offer Code NW923 when applying. Deposit into your account a total of at least $15,000 to earn a $150 Bonus or deposit a total of at least $25,000 to earn a $200 Bonus. Deposit must be posted to account within 30 days of account open date. Maximum bonus eligibility is $200. What to know: Offer not valid for existing or prior Discover savings customers or existing or prior customers with savings accounts that are co-branded, or affinity accounts provided by Discover. Eligibility is based on primary account owner. Account must be open when bonus is credited. Bonus will be credited to the account within 60 days of the account qualifying for the bonus. Bonus is interest and subject to reporting on Form 1099-INT. Offer ends 12/14/2023, 11:59 PM ET. Offer may be modified or withdrawn without notice." I'm planning to keep the $15,000 in there until I receive the bonus, which I THINK will be at maximum 60 days from when I deposited $15,000. But you are totally right, the terms are not as clear as I've seen on other accounts.

I feel cheated by Discover bank. Within 10 days of opening up my new/first time Discover bank savings account, I deposited $25k from an external bank. 30 days later Discover deposited $150 into the savings for account promotion. The account promotion was $150 for $15k or $200 for $25k. I called Discover bank and they told me they see that I added $25k into my new savings within 30 days but they will have to do research and it will take 3 weeks. $50 isn't a big difference but I earned it and it is the principle of the matter. Has this happened to anyone else?
