What is a dresser vs. a chest of drawers?
Some resources will tell you that a chest is tall while a dresser is shorter and wider, or that dresser drawers are deeper than a chest’s drawers. In the real world, the names are often used interchangeably, so focus on the essentials of the piece, like its dimensions and how many drawers it has.

Where should I place my dresser or chest when I arrange my bedroom?
The most common placements we see in bedrooms are across from the foot of the bed, on a wall parallel with the side of the bed, or in a corner of the room. You can even substitute a small chest for a night table if you need storage space right next to your bed.
Dressers and chests aren’t just for bedrooms; you can place them in entryways, at the end of the hallway, or behind your living room sofa.

Quality dresser at affordable price?
Please help! We moved in a few weeks ago and are stumped on our cozy master bedroom (10’ x 11’) with the closet and two window locations.
We believe the queen bed has to stay where it is (we do not want it under a window). All other furniture is temporary and we are planning on changing, but keeping the devout cover and dark green walls. Long term vision is a cozy sanctuary, dark green and earth tones, plants, curtains, over bed artwork, MCM/medium wood tones. We just want to pick the dresser first, then match the rest of the furniture and decor to that wood tone.
We are between option 1 and 2 below. Option 1 would be a single lowboy 6 or 9-drawer dresser for us to share (with closet space to supplement storage) as a feature piece. We have really struggled to find a piece that is 16” deep though (any deeper and it starts cutting off walking space). Option 2 is two matching taller dressers, same 16” depth, symmetric on either side of the window. And then anything in front of the window in between?
Thoughts on a direction to maximize space without feeling overcrowded? TIA! With cat tax
