I picked up a used 4 1/2 in drill master angle grinder. It needs new brushes. Looking for a part number or suitable replacement. Item number 69645 is the only number I can find.
I'm looking at some angle grinders to remove some material off of 1/8" aluminum angle irons, and I was surprised to see the Drill Master angle grinder for $10, and the Chicago Electric for $17. It's not a particularly challenging task, and I don't see myself needing to use it very often so the price is good. However, I've had mixed luck with HF power tools, with the drill being super cheaply constructed but at least works as a drill, while their rotary tool could be stopped with my fingers. I'm curious what everyone's experiences with the angle grinders have been. Do you think these angle grinders are up to the task, and is the Chicago Electric worth the upgrade to the Drill Master? Thanks in advance!
Anyone know what size thread the handle is on the 4 1/2 grinder? I want to buy a replacement, but wasn't sure if it is 10mm or not TIA.
Great rap name, but I'm unsure on the thread size.
Could always but the largest and possibly tap the thread if it turned out to not be the largest...
That said I wouldn't invest too much time or money in a drill master grinders. Those actually earn the crap reputation not having ball bearings but rather metal bushings. They won't last nearly as long as any of the other HF grinders having bearings.
