Email requesting password change being sent out to MotoGP.com account holders

If there was a data breach they are required to disclose that, not just request you to change your password.

Especially since they are based in Europe, and have European customers - GDPR (EU privacy law) requirements are pretty strict and the fines can be high for not disclosing. So it's in their best interest to disclose and not try and cover up.

This could indicate that they suspect that account creds were compromised but not used - or they've discovered you are using a compromised reused password.

Also their password complexity requirement previously was pretty low, they could be doing this to get people to level up.

What's the best way to save passwords?
You have two main options. First, you can use a password manager to keep track of all of your passwords for you. You'll just need to remember one master password. Your second option is to keep all of your passwords written down on paper. If you go that route, make sure you're keeping your list of passwords somewhere secure where other people can't find them, like in a safe.
