Renew or Replace Your Florida Driver's License Online
You can renew or replace your Florida driver’s license or ID card online through the MyDMV Portal at https://mydmvportal.flhsmv.gov. This service is available for REAL-ID compliant licenses (those with a star in the top right corner) and is offered as a one-time convenience renewal every other cycle.
✅ Eligibility for Online Renewal
You are REAL-ID compliant (star on your license).
You are renewing before your license expires (up to 18 months in advance).
You have not previously renewed online (you must renew in person every other renewal).
You are not changing your name, address, or photo, and have no court orders or designations to update.
🔄 What You Need to Renew Online
Last name, date of birth, and current address
Florida Driver’s License or State ID number
Social Security Number (full or last 5 digits)
License plate number, title number, or vessel number (if applicable)
A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) to pay the $48 renewal fee + $2 processing fee
🚫 When You Must Renew In Person
You are not REAL-ID compliant.
You previously renewed online.
You want to update your photo, name, or address.
You are changing your name (via marriage, divorce, or court order).
You are getting a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Your license has “TEMPORARY” printed on it.
You are replacing a lost or stolen license (unless you qualify for a reduced fee in person with a police report).
📌 Important Notes
Online renewals take 2–3 weeks to process; your new license is mailed to you.
You will receive an email confirmation if you provide your email during checkout.
For address changes, you can update online for a $31.25 fee, or in person at a service center.
