Hello everyone! Just picked up Reaper recently but one thing I've been stuck with over the past few days is Reaper's built-in virtual midi keyboard. I want to use my computer keyboard as a piano keyboard but Reaper's version is so limited. Been trying to figure out if I could use a 3rd party software like the Wispow FreePiano (this app allows me to hit more notes) but to no avail.
Btw, I'm poor AF so I can't afford an actual physical keyboard, and Reaper's midi editor is super hard to use.
I think I've been wasting too many hours figuring this one out and other forums/reddit posts don't quite help, so I'm hoping someone could help this noob here. Thanks loads :)
EDIT: I'm aware of this post https://stash.reaper.fm/v/8772/reaper-vkbmap.txt but this tech dino is really confused by the mappings and all :")
https://vmpk.sourceforge.io/ you also need virtual midi cable like https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html and reaper preferences midi device enable loopmidi port and track input midi port and with VMPK in your taskbar it works very well and has a very easy key map editor.
