Based on past experience with App Center and what people have reported with GCC, I would say no. Gigabyte has a habit of pushing updates thru the utility apps that have not even been published on the product web pages of whatever component and sometimes they never are. Sometimes the updates break apps and other times it is worse especially where BIOS and driver updates are concerned. Your honestly better off using the support page for the product or Intel, AMD, Nvidia etc. and updating things manually.

Their software is profound shit, I moved over to Aorus from MSI and decided to do a water cooler build with their extreme Waterforce Z690 board which ran me $2000 not including tax just to discover that my $200 MSI board not only had better software but was easier to get BIOS updates for since their software didn’t crash every time you try to get it to do anything. Would really be nice if Gigabyte put some of that overpriced component money into making those components interface with their software better but I’m just a consumer what do I know. First of all, I apologize for my English.
Second, the last time I built a computer was in 2008, so I’m quite outdated.
A few days ago, I built a new computer, which was about time, and I put in a 13th generation Core i9. I was reading about the potential issues and BIOS updates, and that Intel has released an update that mitigates those problems.
I have a Z790 Gaming X AX V2.x motherboard, and I read that they have already released the update with microcode 0x12B. I'm hesitant to update it via Qflash and prefer to wait for it to appear in the GCC.
My question is, how long does it usually take to appear?
Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this has already been answered; I'm still reading, though.

Just bought AORUS 15 and I was totally surprised about how bad the main software is. I am GCC needs to control everything on my laptop jet somehow it is nearly impossible to see due to extra small text and being unable to resize the app. Also clicking on basically anything freezes for a sec before actually doing anything and half the time the app simply won't start. How can this be an issue on a top-of-the-line laptop? I had HP, Asus, MSI, and Lenovo before, and never have I seen such bad control app...

i built a gaming rig with their z790 ud ac board and the gcc app was causing my entire pc to crash. at first i thought it could either be bad ram, gpu, xmp profile, or cpu. i did all the trial and error, fixes you might imagine and my pc still kept crashing. when i ran the event viewer logs it kept pointing towards the gcc software. after i uninstalled it and with all their other bloatware my pc is working completely normal now. i will never touch their software ever again.

Another thing that I cannot stand with GCC is that when you install and run it for the first time and go onto the update tab it starts to automatically install Norton... this should not happen but it does. I had to install GCC to turn off my x870e Pro RGB lights off because even when turning them off in the BIOS, I would load into windows and they would turn back on and all be blue. I haven't got issues but I literally installed once for this reason and then fully removed it from my system.

Hello,
I just upgraded from a MSI RTX 2060 to a Gigabyte RTX 4060 Ti. I was using the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to keep drivers up to date on the MSI GPU. Can I still just keep using that? Do I need to download the GCC for anything related to the graphics card?

I did use it and, after time, it became pretty reliable but there's always something creaky about Gigabyte software that makes me feel safer without it. The GUIs are always poor, there's usually spelling issues which makes me wonder how well developed these apps are and there was one particular component update that continued to restart my PC without warning. I let my motherboard and graphics card use the default settings now and have removed GCC completely.

No. GCC is a waste of space. Just download the drivers directly from Gigabyte's site or use GeForce Experience sure. If you need to tweak your GPU, use Afterburner instead.
