January 25, 2023 - I bought our Ghostbed split king from Costco 2 plus years ago, and it’s fine, ghostbed customer service is not good, bed‘s ok, everything still works, mattress, I find too warm, the massage is more of a vibration, small complaint.

I bought a split king adjustable (with the base model mattress) from Ghostbed's website just after moving and it's in the garage, waiting to be set up tomorrow after sleeping on old twin beds and an air mattress for the past few weeks while moving and having construction done. Last night my sister in law said that I could get what appears to be the same bed through Costco (with massage, that I don't believe the one I bought has, but I wouldn't say that is a deal maker or breaker for me) for $1200 less than what I paid. Is there any difference in the product if getting from Costco instead of Ghostbed directly? If I'm going to return and re-purchase, I will have to wait a couple more weeks probably to sleep in a comfortable bed, so I just want to make sure it's worth it.

Call Ghostbed anonymously and ask but I doubt there is a difference. Plus, Costco return policy is a huge advantage.

Good afternoon, Thank you for reaching out to GhostBed. I received your message regarding the pricing between the Costco Hybrid mattress and the GhostBed Flex mattress. While we cannot price match to a retail partner, I wanted to make sure I could explain that the 2 mattress models are not the same. The Hybrid version is made exclusively for Costco. It is not the same mattress as the Flex model. The Flex is 13 inches tall and the Costco Hybrid is 12 inches tall. The Hybrid Costco mattress is actually firmer up top, as it is a 5 layer mattress versus the Flex, which is a more comfortable 7-layer mattress with the coil layer for support. The Flex model has 8-inch coils for support while the Costco Hybrid has 6 inch coils.

The Costco version is 12 inches with 5 layers. The Flex is 13 inches with 7 layers. But I'm not well versed enough in mattresses to know how big of a deal that is. I can't find reviews of Costco's version, but the Flex seems to be rated fairly highly, so I'm wondering if it's safe to assume they are fairly similar or not.
Any help would be appreciated!

They have similar materials but the composition is different as well. The Costco version puts 1.5" of responsive polyfoam on top of 2" of memory foam and says its a med-plush feel. The other has 2" of memory foam above the 1" of responsive poly and says its a medium feel. So the Costco one is more plush, but Id also expect to be a bit more responsive feeling from the slight change in composition. Your weight, sleep position, and personal preferences will play a big part in which you prefer. Reviews are typically close to useless though. Never trust reviews straight from the manufacturer site, they are careful about which reviews they chose to publish, and honestly I think many of them are straight fake. Then even sites like Costco, Amazon, and Ikea that are good about publishing reviews are not the best source for making a decision. If you dont know that persons weight, height, sleep position, and personal preferences, their opinion is meaningless for you. If I tell you I think the Ghostbed feels firm, but fail to mention that I am 120lbs and sleep on my side. Then you as lets say a 250lb person who sleeps on your back could read that and think okay that sounds perfect for me. But at that weight and sleep position you would likely get the mattress and be upset that it's too soft for you and hurts your back.

Don’t do it ! that’s the one I just ordered. I’ve been trying to return my mattress for weeks and they just ignore you. the company is a scam and they’re dominating on marketing, so they flood these forums (and their own website review section)with positive comments and make it look like they’re totally legit but they’re not. It’s a fraud - even if you’re within your trial period you will not get a refund. They will screw you over, do not order from them. Get this- they actually make you find your own charity to donate your mattress to! And guess what, in Canada it’s really hard to find a charity that is allowed take a mattress because everything changed after Covid with regulations, so you’re stuck with your mattress. Then they ignore you for weeks and you finally get a supervisor on the phone who tells you too bad, you weren’t successful in finding a charity so you’ve missed your 101 day window! They basically ignore you until the 101 day trial is over and then you have no choice but to keep your mattress. They are trained and avoiding you on the phone and email and you will feel like you’re going crazy. I just lost $2000. Don’t do it, order from another company instead.

Can I recommend https://www.loganandcove.ca/ instead? Canadian made, inner coil hybrid mattress. Bought mine 8 years ago and it's still holding up, no middle bed dents, no overheating, extremely well made and hotel feel mattess. Really love mine.

Hello I’m looking at purchasing either the Casper select or the ghostbed luxe from Costco. Has anyone tried both and can say what is better. And if it’s the Casper select, should I get the hybrid or memory foam? my wife and I both sleep on our sides and back. Weights are 180 and 170 This my first time buying a mattress Thank you

Sleep position does matter, as does height/weight for the sleepers using the mattress. It's impossible to say whether either might be a good choice without that info.

Being 'average' height and weights, there's a good chance either would work for you. We don't see a lot of discussion about ghost bed in this sub, so I can't really speak about them Casper makes a good quality bed, and I personally like the hybrids because they breathe better and tend to sleep cooler. Hot sleeping is a fairly common complaint with all foam beds . I usually recommend trying to find a good local retailer and trying some beds to less experienced buyers. If you have a local store that sells regionally made or private label brands especially. I don't recommend that people pay the Mattress Firm penalty. Denver mattress is good if you're lucky enough to have one near you,. Ikea also has some really good beds for the money. I love Costco, but the downside is ability to lay on the mattress, so you need a good idea of what works for you for that to have the best chance of success
