Hello,
We've been asked to provide backup for a client that uses GoDaddy's 365-based email. I tried our MSP360 (formerly Cloudberry) solution, but it couldn't see the accounts. I filed a ticket and MSP360 couldn't figure out a solution either. (I have a Global Admin account in place FYI)
What backup packages has anyone found useful (cloud based) in this situation? We will defederate after we get a backup in place.
I wonder what options or alternatives exist to back up O365 emails in case Microsoft servers encounter issues and emails are lost.
It’s not just in case of MS failure, but ransomware, a disgruntled user who may think it’s smart to erase all emails (perhaps from a shared mailbox), user error and so on.
If you have a NAS, check to see if the NAS has built-in capability of backing up 365 to itself (yes this does bring it back on-prem, but it’s something - you could then sync that to another off-site).
Veeam offers 365 backups, free for 10 mailboxes, for 20 users you’d have to license them.
There are also other products out there to do this.
We have some small clients (less than 20 users) who utilize Dropbox for documents and GoDaddy’s Office365 for email services.
Some users have Essentials email with 10GB of space, while others have PLUS with 50GB of data.
Outlook and email has been working great for 3 years, no issues.
When an user have issues, we prepare a replacement laptop, and documents are downloaded again from Dropbox while emails are downloaded from O365 to a new OST in Outlook.
I wonder what options or alternatives exist to back up O365 emails in case Microsoft servers encounter issues and emails are lost. What are the available choices? suggestions?
