i'm pretty sure google intentionally digests what you're looking for and refuses to show it to you so you'll keep scrolling and madly clicking random stuff as long as possible. google has utterly stopped working. it's been getting worse over the years, but in the past month or so, i've noticed it absolutely nosediving. it seems to, quite literally, grasp your search query, in order to actually not show you what you're looking for, intentionally. part of why is say that confidently is that, if it were just a bad search engine, it would still statistically sometimes work to find what you want, but now it never works. the big platforms these days seem to think that just getting you to "engage" is more important than your personal mental health, safety, whether you're being serviced as a customer... people might think that tricking you into "engaging" rather than providing you something, anything, would be crazy, but, i mean, upper class folks, software developers, and corporate stooges pretty openly trash what the rest of us think sensible means on a daily basis. they openly, wholeheartedly disagree with us that their job should be to provide a service, it's seen now as a bad return on investment to actually produce something. they're all about monetizing nothing, these days. NFTs, AI art, things that passively sit and alchemize existing information into a distraction are where their head is at. turning "nothing" into revenue. in this case, "nothing" to them means making you endlessly waste your life scrolling and raging out expecting the big companies to do the things they keep saying they're there to do. it's gaslighting. i can't take it anymore.
