Since the GA4 'upgrade' I have completely given up on Google Analytics. I mainly used it to get a quick view on how many people came to my website each day, over specific time periods, and from specific sources. That was pretty much all I asked of it, but real time was nice too.
In GA4 I find myself getting lost every time I try to do anything. It is similar to how Google Adwords and Meta Ad platforms will seemingly log you into a random flux of interfaces and options which bear no relation to the typical user requirements. Nothing is up front, there are no primary user requirements at the top level, there's no attempt to make interaction practical as part of a typical user's workflow...everything is obscure.
I would like to ask if anyone has ever seen any engagement from Google? I have never seen anything and I have been a user for almost 20 years. All Google communication is top down. I think it is to blame for the gradual worsening of all their services. I can't think of any Google product that is better now than it was ten years ago, with the possible exception of Gmail.
