Govee TV Backlight 3 Pro is finally coming….
I got selected for the test, so I have to wait until it comes to review. The description says that the upgrades/info include: A sleeker camera design that takes up less space Acts as a DreamView center syncing with up to 10 sub devices (I think the T2 does this as well) New color matching algorithm with a richer RGB application Enhanced LED Strip (RGBWWIC with 16-bit G1151 IC for finer color gradients Upgraded color capture to Triple-lens + HDR for more accurate colors, brighter images, and better detail in both dark and bright scenes Excited to give it a try! Finally got a TV backlight
Behind the TV I understand but having those two light bars shining right at you isn't distracting? They don't wash out the TV during night scenes? More on reddit.com

Govee TV Backlight Lite 3
Got mine a few days ago and have been slowly tweaking it to get it better, here is where I would start if I were you. First triple check the camera is calibrated correctly, I found the youtube video with the orange blocks to be better than using the foam blocks. Calibrate it and if the last screen doesnt look right (skewed badly) go through it again, I found moving the points just a tiny bit will drastically change the final screen. Once you are confident the camera is calibrated well pull up a white screen on youtube and use the color calibration tab to set the saturation and white balance. Set the saturation to 1 starting out and move the white balance until the lights match it well. From here make sure the mode is set to "part" and not "all" and mess with the brightness. I found a comment here to set the brightness to 100% then adjust the relative brightness down to where the lights turn almost all the way off on a dark scene. With these settings you should be pretty close, I also found it helpful to find various videos that have a lot of similar color (desert or forest ambient videos) and adjust the white balance to make sure it matched those colors. There will definitely be a moment where you need to accept you are close enough and enjoy the lights for what they are, but you should be able to get way better than what you have currently. r/Govee on Reddit: Finally got a TV backlight
December 26, 2024 -

I've been wanting one of these since over a decade ago when I started seeing them pop up online. They were a lot more expensive back then, and idk what companies actually made and sold them back then. Anyways, I got this T3 Lite backlight kit with the light bars for Christmas. The instructions said to put the light bars on the left and right side of the TV, however, my TV is mounted up too high to do this. The light bars come with stands, and I couldn't find anything online about wall mounting them. However, there are slots in the back so you can put them on a screw and slide them down to somewhat lock them in place, so I put a couple screws in the wall and slapped them up there.

Now a couple questions.

First, has anyone else wall mounted these? What did you do to make the wires not look so bad going from the bars to the TV?

Second, the instructions said for best results, place the light bars 20 inches/50 centimeters away from the sides of the TV. As you can see I have the right bar mounted all the way to the corner of the wall, which is only 12 inches. If my TV is even slightly tilted to one side , it picks up the light from that bar and keeps the backlight on on the top corner, even if the screen is all black. Is there anything I can do in the settings to mitigate this? I like to keep my TV slightly turned for best viewing with my setup.

It'd actually be really cool if I could use the light bars separate and put them on the sides of my computer monitors, but you'd have to have another controller and power supply. I wouldn't even care about getting a camera and using them as backlighting. I would just use them for ambience in the computer room.

Ignore the mess. Post Christmas insanity over here right now 🤣
