I have all hansgrohe fixtures in my personal shower and also use them in all of my jobs. Love them. The reason they have maintenance is bc you are not going to throw out a 500.00 shower head and just buy a new one when it gets a little gunked up. All their heads have little rubber nipples and if you rub them back and forth they clean themselves pretty well. I would reccomend installing a water softener though if you have hard water.

Just really depends on if you have a decent enough supply house that can get and or stock parts. I can go anywhere and get delta parts but sometimes it can take a couple weeks to get replacement parts or trim for a hansgrohe. They are nice but if in ten years if you want to change the trim or get a cartridge it may take a bit to get. At the end of the day it’s your choice because you’re the one who’s gotta live with it. We got a round push button control with volume control twist like dimmer switches, and a thermostatic knob below it. I think we probably spent about 400 in total on the shower bits, the mixer was the most expensive but is fantastic quality, and the large rain head has some water saving technology and it does seem good. I assumed hansgrohe was the retail/consumer side of the brand as i saw them in shops, and grohe was the commercial/hotel side as i only found them online.

It's 2024 and reddit is filled with people cursing these German brands (old comments). At the same time, there are some (again old) comments saying that it's good quality and worth the painful service and delay in ordering parts during faults.
Why are these expensive brands still popular and my contractor is recommending them in 2024 if it's a pain? Will Delta / moen get me the same experince, quality & long lasting product and quality service? I'm looking for a double function thermostatic shower valve. I have a shortlisted product from Grohe but the negative reviews really scare me.

Lol, had a customer go 2 weeks without a kitchen sink waiting for parts for a Grohe faucet. I'd go with Delta or Moen over either Hansgrohe or Grohe any day.
