While UOR (credit for images) has the interactive online maps, I wanted to have something easier to look at for getting accustomed to the areas & shops in the trip planning process especially for newbies. The route takes in locations used in the films, as well as some other major London landmarks along the way for good measure, including the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Bank of England, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall. Here is a list of the filming locations that it passes along the route: Leadenhall Market, as seen in the Philosopher's Stone before Hagrid takes Harry to the Leaky Cauldron for the first time. The entrance to the Leaky Cauldron is still there, but has been painted blue. The Millenium Bridge, the one destroyed by the Death Eaters at the beginning of the Half Blood Prince The Thames Path along the Southbank, following the route that Harry and other members of the Order of the Phoenix flew upstream along the river on the way to Grimmauld Place for the first time Lambeth Bridge, where the Knight Bus squeezes between two double decker buses in the Prisoner of Azkaban shortly before it arrives at the Leaky Cauldron Westminster Underground Station, where Arthur Weasley struggles to get through the ticket barrier and has to enlist Harry's help. This is when Mr Weasley is taking Harry to the Ministry of Magic for his hearing in the Order of the Phoenix Horse Guards Avenue, where Harry, Ron and Hermione use the public toilets to enter the Ministry of Magic in the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Scotland Place, where Harry, Ron and Hermione ambush three Ministry of Magic employees in the Deathly Hallows Part 1, and also where Harry and Mr Weasley use a telephone box to enter the Ministry of Magic in the Order of the Phoenix Piccadilly Circus/Shaftesbury Avenue, where Harry, Ron and Hermione apparate to in the Deathly Hallows Part 1 after Bill and Fleur's wedding is attacked by Death Eaters Australia House (the home of the Australian High Commission), the interiors of which are used as Gringotts in the Philosopher's Stone and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (please note that Australia House is not open to the public) St. Pancras Station, the beautiful gothic exterior of which was used as Kings Cross Station in the Chamber of Secrets when Ron and Harry take off in the flying Ford Anglia Kings Cross Station, needless to say, is the home of Platform 9¾ and is used in every film with the exception of the Goblet of Fire and the Half Blood Prince. There is an official Harry Potter shop here adjacent to Platform 9¾ . Handily, you can catch the train to Watford Junction for Leavesden Studios from Euston Station just 700m down the road.
