I have a henckels eversharp streak knife, and it is a total piece of crap. I'm ordering these to match my henckels international classic knife set.
Looking at knife sets. I have a cheap Henckel International set now. I’m looking though to get a set that will have steak knives with it. Preferably for not more than $1000. I know people will say not to buy a set, but that’s what I would prefer. What does anyone recommend?
Most people, including myself, recommend that you buy knives separately. I can't think of anything good, that I'd recommend, that ALSO comes with steak knives. More on reddit.com

Don't buy a set, you won't use most of them. Get a chefs knife you like, you'll use that most of the time. Get a serrated (bread) knife. Get a small pairing knife. That's all you need. Really. Then get a honing rod (just use it prior to cutting) and a sharpening tool you will actually use (electric, pull through or a stone). Make sure the angles match your knife, Japanese and Western are different. More on reddit.com

$17 version $45 version The only differences I can discern are: a tiny difference in the handle shape the more expensive one claims "German Steel" the cheaper one is manufactured in India, the more expensive one in China I can't see any difference that would justify the nearly 3x price increase. You’re gonna say “who asked” but you don’t really need a knife set unless you know you’re going to use every single knife. Just get 3 really nice knives individually. A chefs knife, a pairing knife, and a bread knife. Odds are you will never use anything else ever again. Don’t waste your money on sets More on reddit.com
