Is Hennessy XO overpriced at $139?
For a 750ml? No, that is extremely underpriced for that size. It’s usually over $200 although you can find it at Duty Free stores if you travel internationally for like $175-$180. If it’s a 375ml, that’s probably about right bc liquor is usually more than half price for a half bottle but I don’t buy that size for that reason. If you are asking if it’s good, yes it’s really good. More on reddit.com
Hennessy X.O
Just open it. It's not worth that much, and since cognac stops aging once it's bottled, it won't be "better" over time, like wine. I see tons of these, from different ages, online and they aren't worth that much. So no reason to save it for the money so to speak. Open it and enjoy it. More on reddit.com

It's intense and deep amber color is a sign of its strength. Its flavors of candied fruit and its subtle and lightly spicy nose create a complete harmony: a mark of its power and roundness. To taste, a smooth, full sensation gives a simultaneously powerful and soft tonality with a hint of cocoa and a warm, fruity presence. The long finish expresses all the complexity of the cognac’s blending and its long ageing process.

I’m thinking of buying a nice cognac and was wondering if Hennessy XO is worth it for that price point.
I realize it depends on my tastes and how much my booze budget is, but to take an example from whiskey, I think Johnnie Walker Blue is overpriced and Green is worth the money.
What would you buy with a budget of about $150 usd?
Edit: Sorry, it’s a 700ml bottle. Forgot to mention that

Uhh. Even at 700ml, I'd buy 3 or 4 bottles for $139. (And hope my wife doesn't notice.)

I’m more of a bourbon guy but my dad gifted me this bottle he purchased around 1998. Nice little glasses and a scroll with the taste notes.
You guys think it’s worth saving a few more years or just crack it open?
