This is my first year decorating and I saw here that Home Depot seemed to have some good stuff. The first day I walked out with $300 worth of props, and now I'm closer to $600. Each item I am just thrilled with, but especially the larger plastic tombstones. I literally just want to go to Home Depot right now to talk myself into buying more stuff and to stand in awe of everything.

Our Home Depot sold out of the lit gargoyle but I have contacted them to be informed of when they will be restocked, and I will be there to claim them!

But looking for comparable value elsewhere has been a bit of a disappointment. In many ways, HD feels like it's exceeding my expectations, whereas other places are a bit less economical to "stock up" at. Even Lowe's didn't have nearly the selection of static props that felt like would last for seasons.

Other than HD, or making them yourselves, where are you shopping? Or is HD really just that great of a value?

Home Depot rarely gets restock of Halloween stuff, it’s something they say but it never happens. Pray and Travel to other Home Depot’s if you want that gargoyle, there is a good chance the ey are done for the year - they ended up being the hot item because of the price. That said, I agree with your assessment - Home Depot is becoming the best for outdoor Halloween decor. Like, typically I prefer Lowe’s for most home improvement things but Home Depot beats Lowe’s every year for both Halloween and Christmas. Spirit has crashed and burned, most of their stuff is way too expensive for low quality items which mostly can’t even be outside.

HD is excellent, but definitely shop around some of the home decor stores, too. We got some great stuff from At Home, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods. My favorite new tombstone this year came from Home Goods. It's about 3 feet tall, made out of resin or fiberglass, and is heavy. It has a skeleton coming up from behind and lights up in a few spots. Paid 75 bucks for it, but it's worth every penny. They had about 4 different tombstones, all great designs and high quality, and I wanted them all, but we only got 2. Big Lots also has some decent, though lower quality, stuff this year.
