I don't know about the apps. I specifically looked for ones that are easier for me to reach when stacked but i also wanted separate. We bought electrolux stackable with steam function. At the time it was top of the line and it has not been giving us any issues. As with any laundry machine I leave the washing machine door open to air out and run a cleaning cycle that the machine reminds me to do every so often. More on reddit.com

Marketplace or Home Depot for washer and dryer?
I feel like I'd look on marketplace for a recent-ish top-load washer, basic AF washer and dryer set, ones with analog controls. I'm assuming electric dryer? Otherwise you shouldn't be doing gas work yourself. The basic analog nature of these means fewer possible points of failure. $400 or less per set all day long where I am. And maybe get a $5.00 leak detector/water alarm and put it behind the washer. Last thing you want is a giant repair bill from the landlord if it leaks. More on reddit.com

Hey all-

I'm sorry in advance for how long this might be.

My SO is a very clean person (germophobe) and we have four dogs.

We have a lot of large (king size) comforters and blankets that we use.

A couple years ago I bought a couple top load Samsung laundry machines but the washer is constantly going into "unbalanced" mode due to the large oversized things I have to wash all the time, and I get really worn out from hearing the banging and loud clunking from the laundry room.

The laundry takes 5-6 times as long to get anything done because I'm constantly stopping, rearranging and trying to start again. I feel like I'm losing my damned mind. I live out in the country and driving for 45 minutes to a laundromat in our nearest town seems like such a waste of energy.

The washing machine is perfectly level (checked with tools) and the self-level/self check runs ok each time.

I've just gotten to the point where I have decided that I need to get a different machine because I'm really unhappy and frustrated with our current ones.

I have a credit with Home Depot for $2500 and my intent is to replace both machines with front loaders, because I hear that they don't have as many problems with unbalanced loads.

I'm older and somewhat forgetful, and having smart home enabled machines would be really helpful to remind me that laundry is done or needs to get switched.

My current washer has a capacity of 5.0 and I think I may need to go over that due to the volume of the stuff I have to wash all the time. I don't want do do an all in one because of the volume of stuff that I have to wash all the time.

So anyhow, I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give. I really want to give her a happy, safe home and I just need some help with sorting this out.
