I recently installed an aorus master z690 board, 12700k and some new ram. When I turn the pc on, it will run for a small amount of time and an error would pop up on the motherboard, C 1. It will then turn off and reboot, and stays in that cycle. I wanted to know what I can do to fix this, any help would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded my pc with a z690 Aorus Master, 12700k cpu, and 2x16 Adata ddr5 4800. When I turn on my pc, the motherboard starts flashing red and brings up a code C1. It then turns off briefly and then turns on again, like in a cycle. I wanted to know if there’s anyone who had this happen and what they did to resolve it.

I’m trying to upgrade my PC to an i7 8700k I bought a new motherboard, the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 which supports z370 / LGA1151. I also got a new cooler, the Cooler Master V8 GTS, as I heard the 8700k runs very hot. The ram I’m using is Corsair DDR4 2400mhz. My graphics card is a 1080ti founders edition. When powering on, everything lights up and the cooler starts blowing and the led number counter goes through a bunch of letters / numbers before landing on C1 and then restarting. I googled around to try to figure out the error and some people mentioned it could be memory related, so I tried a different pair of sticks, tried reinstalling them, tried just one stick and still no dice. I’m at my wits end here. Any ideas?

Just a little background: The power in my room short circuited a few days ago, and I ended up having to re-download bios because of it. Not sure if this is relevant to the issue, but I wasn’t having issues with my computer until that happened.

I was playing games last night and my game kept crashing. Decided on restarting my pc because of a windows update. Upon download, now my pc display won’t show and my motherboard has a C1 code. I’ve tried the CMOS refresh to get back into bios, but no luck. Has anyone had this issue / know what it could be? I’m hoping my RAM sticks didn’t fry.

Unfortunately, the motherboard that I have died.

Which is a sad thing. Chipset literally died.

So.. I am going to buy another, the same model.

The guy, seller showed me a lot of pictures, and told me that If he put a single RAM(even 2133MHz) on the two left side of the RAM slot, it will somehow show C1 and C4 code and won't POST.

And if He puts a single RAM on the two right side of the slot, it will boot and show the OS Screen.

And C code is classified as "Reserved" Debug code in the manual.

What the heck is this thing? Can anyone help me to solve this thing?

• The BIOS version is F20K, the newest(latest) one.

• Tested CPU is Kaby lake Pentium G4560.

• No bent CPU Socket Pins.

• Seller tried to put all the same RAM to the all four slots, but no POST.

• 5 beeps reported.

Alright, I'm at my wits end with this one. I took advantage of a new egg deal recently to upgrade my computer:

I built the pc and followed all the directions, but I cannot get it to boot. It enters a boot loop where it goes through multiple error codes, before finally ending up on c1, shutting off, and rebooting. I can't even get to the BIOS. The LED for RAM is lit up, but it switches between the CPU and the RAM light.

I have tried:

• Reseating the CPU

• Switching the RAM stick to the other slots

• Resetting bios

• Updating bios

• Disconnecting everything and trying to boot

I am already on the second motherboard, RAM stick, and CPU from Newegg. I have already checked for bent pins on the Motherboard and I don't see anything.

I also have a MAG CoreLiquid A15 240 CPU Cooler on it and a 3060 GPU.

SOLVED: It was the RAM. I took it to a local computer repair shop and asked if they had a stick they could test the motherboard with. Sure enough, they took my stick out and put the test stick in and the computer booted with no problem.
