There is no Control Panel like in Windows or the old Classic Mac OS systems of years ago. Instead, what macOS has are System Preferences. You can access this from the Apple Menu and selecting the System Preferences… option.
Once you do you’ll see a list of Preferences Panes you can access by using a single mouse click. There are two you can utilise to address your issue, because both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad can be set up to do what you’re calling a right-click.
Below are screenshots of both the Mouse and Trackpad preference panes:

Note that when you look at both these preference panes you will see options for a Secondary click. This is the setting that will enable the right-click you’re looking for.
I suggest while you’re in System Preferences you also have a play with what else is available.
Finally, you may find the Mac tips for Windows switchers site of great interest to you.

Hold down the ⌃CTRL key and click with the mouse. This will act as a right click.
Or you can set it up thru Apple menu → System Preferences... → Mouse and check Secondary Click.

The MacOS keyboard shortcut for a right click—I used to know it. Now I've forgotten it.
Is there any way to right click with the keyboard on a mac?
You can use CTRL- click, but maybe that's not what you are looking for?

Hey all,
I'm new to the game. I was told I have to right-click in order to move troops and diplomates. On a Mac I use control click but it doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if any mac users know how to help with this.
Thanks.
Spoiler: look ahead for what pressing ⌃-⏎ (control - return) is intended to accomplish.
I'm writing a reddit post for here, I mistype a word, and I get the little, red, squiggly, misspelling line.
(After having fixed it, I'd edited it. “Edited it.” Say that quickly three or more times. 0K. Back on point.)
Moving the cursor to the word, I press the tab button—which, interestingly works for Chrome on MacOS for Gmail, but that's due to Gmail's client injecting its own life ring—but no joy.
In Windows, of course, it's obviously Shift-F10—which, intuitively, makes total sense, in a completely natural way <sarcasm>—but on Mac? It's… I don't remember.
Google is usually my friend, but in this case, Google has abandoned me. *sigh*
I battled with using “Mac” versus “MacOS” in the title because I wasn't sure if it was a feature that was done globally as a MacOS thing, or if it was somehow partitioned into puzzle piece subdivisions of the OS and depended on which field of the farm needed work that day, requiring different keypresses for different parts of the OS.
