There's a message put out by Blizzard to update BIOS when you have a 13th or 14th gen Intel processor.
I checked the FAQ on the Asus support page on how to safely do this because I don't like messing with BIOS.
There's some options on how to do it, one of them using a program to install in Windows - AI suite 3 - and to other way is to directly access the BIOS on startup and update from there.
I installed the AI suite 3 first but the EZ installer component is not there so can't update via that. Then I went into the BIOS and 3 times in a row, while navigating to Tools and select the BIOS file on my USB drive, it freezes and I need to reboot the PC.
I'm pretty hesitant to proceed, I don't want to brick my PC and I'm not too tech savvy so no clue how to proceed from here.
Any suggestions? Should I even bother with the update at all?

If you have either a 13th or 14th generation CPU it's highly recommended to install the latest BIOS which will include the Intel microcode to prevent CPU over temperature and voltage spikes. Make sure your USB stick is formatted as FAT32. Download the latest BIOS from the Asus website (1805) and extract to your USB stick. Don't update your BIOS via Windows only do it through the EzFlash utility in the BIOS tools.

Hello,
I noticed an update as of 4-19-2024 for my BIOS, so to my understanding, I would need a 2.0 USB flash drive, 8gb only, but would 16gb be ok? Because local store just doesnt carry 8gb (weird, yes, they only have 16gb's)
Also, this is the first time updating any BIOS, but I would like to take advantage of any added features, fixes, etc , and with the correct guidance I might be able to achieve that ....

Attempted to update yesterday, and had multiple update failures due to: “Selected file is not a proper Bios file”I think it said There is no specific bios usb port on the Asus z790-P WIFI. Renaming the file with the “name updater” did nothing either, the used flash drive is a 16GB (fat32 format) dedicated to bios only (nothing besides the recent bios file is on it.

Hello everyone! I'm currently running a workstation with an Asus Z790-A WiFi motherboard and an intel core i7 13700K CPU, my current BIOS is version 1220, unfortunately I've been experiencing stability issues, especially while rendering, CPU reaches 100 degrees and dram led gets red. My waterblock and fans are working as expected, my ram is working properly as well. I've read rumors about bios settings not imposing a limit on CPU voltage on older versions. So, what bios version do you recommend I update to? And what is that intel ME thing? (I'm totally new to this, haven't updated in my lifetime)

Bios update is mandatory. Once you got unstability the damage to the CPU is permanent. You could try updating to the latest one or at least the one which includes the relevant microcode to avoid damaging the CPU. But as Intel said, once unstable, unrecoverable. Intel ME can be updated on Windows if the bios didn't update. Usually is below bios on download page. 100C seems too high for a water block without OC. Check installation.

Honestly it is not hard and there are a ton of videos online for updating Asus bios. However. If you are not comfortable. Take it to a shop or have someone you trust that knows how do it.
