Audio is my least favorite part of editing videos. I make compilations so making sure each clip isn't too loud is hard. When I post a video unlisted I think it sounds fine until I click on someone else's video and it seems quiet. Then I re edit it. Then I overcorrect and feel like it's too loud. Then I re edit that. The cycle continues.
I'm frustrated about making no progress. I am going insane posting slightly different versions of the same video. I know I'm overthinking this but frick dude I just need to know how to get consistent audio mann. What levels do I aim for? What tools do I use? I'm broke so Audacity is all I have I'm too broke 4 premiere and too scared to 🏴☠️🦜😭🙏 I just want my stuff to be normal

Funny, I just made a list of things to do in Audacity for my voiceovers. I'll give you my list, but you should search on Youtube for something like "How to improve audio quality in Audacity". Put Voiceover in Audacity Select background noise Effects > Noise reduction : Get Noise Profile Effects > Noise reduction : Apply Clearer audio Effects > Compressor : Apply Effects > Normalize : Apply Removing mouth noises and clicks Effects > De-Clicker (adjust if needed) : Apply (This is an Audacity addon you need to download) Listen and manually remove what’s left So far it's been working pretty good and it's not too time consuming. I can't really explain anymore than that, because I don't actually know how this stuff works, I just followed the Youtube tutorial.
