February 11, 2025 - They are now showing ads on no ads premium plans. This tells you why piracy is again on the rise, watch whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want or keep it forever.

I’ve been using YouTube tv for a few years. No issues. But with the recent Disney changes to Hulu and their integration with Disney and espn content I’ve been thinking about switching to Hulu live. One thing that has me curious is that it appears you can get Hulu live tv plus Hulu with no ads and Disney plus with no ads for $95 a month. Sounds like a great deal. I pay for the Disney and Hulu bundle with no ads and it costs me about $23 a month plus my subscription to YouTube tv.
Is the Hulu live bundle with Hulu and Disney plus no ads? Anyone here have that plan?

So I just signed up for a trial of Hulu Live TV no ads. Watching HGTV, there are a ton of ads showing. I see no point to paying extra for an ad free experience. If this is ad free, I'd hate to see the regular ad version.

Is there any streaming service that offers a DVR function and wide selection of channels that are truly ad free? The ad frequency is frankly obnoxious so far and I am not enjoying the experience.

Edit: user expectation error. All sorted now.

November 10, 2024 - Longer answer is only a few on-demand shows are subject to ads under ad-free. If you want to really be sure, check the terms and services as they should list out all shows that are under exception.

r/Hulu on Reddit: Ad-Free Still Showing Ads?

Hello!

My partner has the No-Ads, Not-Live version of Hulu, and we still see ads when watching on his account. We googled it, and they said that some shows may still have ads due to licensing agreements, which makes sense. However, here’s a list of what we’ve seen ads on:

  • Futurama (the new episodes)

  • The Kardashians (no judgement pls, it motivates me to clean the house)

  • How I Met Your Father

  • Abbott Elementary

  • Family Guy

  • Only Murders in the Building

  • Rick and Morty

  • Solar Opposites

  • Archer

I’m not going to pretend that I’m an expert in copyright law or licensing. However, all of those shows are owned by FX, FOX, ABC, or are Hulu Originals. Hulu was owned by Fox and ABC, which are now subsidiaries of Disney. How the hell can Hulu advertise “Ad-Free” when there are ads on shows that they and their subsidiaries own?

February 18, 2023 - Some on demand still has ads even with the no-ads plan. Probably what OP is talking about. ... All of the content on regular Hulu except Grey's Anatomy is ad free with no ads.

Don't know how many other people saw it but thanks to someone in another thread, I just "upgraded" or paid the difference for hulu/disney plus no ads (premium) for $8.00 on the Disney plus site.

I did the disney plus with ads for $1.00 loophole months ago, by signing in with my hulu email on the Disney plus site, adding it, and seeing the $11.99 discount.

I saw in another discussion a few days ago that now i think due to the changes of the hulu integration into the disney plus app, they added the option now to sign up for hulu/disney plus no ads (premium). I was able to switch to this plan, and it gave me the $11.99 discount (hulu on us) so it looks like from now on I'll pay $8.00 for Disney Plus and Hulu no ads. Now I did have to pay a pro-rate today for upgrade to premium. So I paid $4.30 today, then when my monthly charge comes out for the next month, it is $8.00. Just wanted to share in case some were looking for this.

Mind you, I know nothing about whether this works for the bundle with espn+.

So, I had a TV program paused about 15-20 minutes and as I FF through the ads I get hit with a Hulu ad that isn’t skipable. Is this only because I’m FF through TV Ads so they’re getting their money or will I get Hulu ads on top of TV commercials??

If I’m getting Hulu Ads on top of TV commercials that literally the worst design and customer service and will cancel immediately haha

I’ve been testing for the last few days black and whitelisting the various things in all sorts of combinations but still it still seems that if you block too many of the querys it crashes and makes me select resume. I understand pi-hole isn’t going to block everything, but just thought I would ask. Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions for any lists you guys suggest to add

so I know this is a tall order but I was hoping someone would know of a completely free (not freemium) app that blocks ads on ios apps, not on browsers? I have a chrome extension on my computer but I haven't been able to find anything that will skip hulu commercials in the app. Any advice is appreciated! <3

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case anyone did not see this. I just logged into my Hulu app and apparently the new cost beginning sometime next month will be $20.99. I think right now it is 17.99. At this point I am thinking about just canceling my service and signing up for one of those subscriptions where it is basically wireless cable tv like we use to watch before streaming.
