i’ve had this bed frame for over a year and love the look of it! however, i noticed my mattress sank in the middle and thought it was just because it was an old mattress. So I ended up buying a new mattress but it still continues to sink in the middle.
The slats that came with Luroy are curved, so i’m wondering if that’s the problem? or is it because the metal sides are higher than the center beam where the bed goes?
Anyone else ever have this issue?
I'm looking for a cheap bedframe and I was wondering if anyone has used the Tarva Double bedframe? I don't expect it to be amazing but is it at least somewhat sturdy?

Hey! I am planning on buying a 160x200 (queen size) bed into my new apartment. These two beds mentioned in the title are similarly priced im my country (Hungary) and are rated good enough. I want to get the sturdier bed from those two, what will be less noisy over time? I lean to TARVA because it looks like I can use it with LINDBADEN slats which are much better then the basic LUROY that the TAVRA comes with by default. Any other recommendations are wellcome in this price range.
If you have any experience with these beds please tell me your thoughts.
Thanks!
Reddit-wan, you're my only hope...
So... we were looking at the Tarva tonight, and had almost decided to pull the trigger, when I had the idea to take a look at the reviews.
Many of the reviews for the Tarva bed frame say that it sinks in the middle, that the center support beam ends up lower than the sides, low enough to scrape against under-bed boxes. One of the reviewers said that she was able to rectify the problem with a 2x4, but the mixed reviews have definitely caused us to take a longer look before buying.
Interestingly, the bad reviews seem to come from couples, the good reviews seem to come from single people -does/will the Tarva bedframe, in fact, support the weight of two medium-sized people (less than 350 lbs total weight)? Do any couples have experience or insight with the Tarva that they'd care to share?
Are there any hacks or suggestions to mitigate the middle sink? I have noticed that there seems to be no shortage of support here in redditland for the Tarva, so there's that...

Hey so.. wtf ! I literally just rolled over and it collapsed. This is only our 5th night of sleeping on it. Did we do something wrong? Should I just reassemble these pieces or should we reinforce it somehow? Not familiar with bigger pieces of IKEA furniture Advice appreciated
help, desperate for a new double bed for my new flat. doing a massive order just now.. not sure what bed to buy. really want to spend as little as possible as i've literally shit all money.
have looked at NEIDEN (£99), TARVA (£165), and MALM (currently £183 down from £229).
i guess in terms of solidity and lastability and minimal squeakage, it would be MALM > TARVA > NEIDEN.
i don't mind cheaping out on the NEIDEN but it looks so flimsy. saying that i'm only 65kg / 140lbs so it's hardly going to collapse under my featherweight self. but will it be noisy?
also TARVA is the cheapest one with a SKORVA midbeam and they are solid
help me decide what bed to get! anyone got any of the above and can chime in?!
I'm looking for a new 140 x 200 bed. Looking at the comments I can't believe how many people experience squeaking. Seems like every bed Ikea sells squeaks, lol.
Especially these three seem to have huge problems with squeaking. I'm a light sleeper so squeaking would absolutely kill me. Which one should I buy? I'm 5'7 and 147 lbs
I just chatted with customer service and they said that the Tarva 5 drawer chest is now discontinued as of 1/1/24. I saw a post from years ago about how some products come back under different names. Someone also made a post from years ago about Tarva being discontinued. Is this product truly discontinued or is it going to come back?
Was looking to buy the Tarva set when I noticed that the bed shown in the nightstand photo was a bit different from the normal Tarva queen bed. Is there anyway to get the one that is in this photo? Or is it just the normal tarva bed styled differently?
I have replacement slats being delivered for my TARVA queen frame today, but I have been going through my parts and I think the movers who disassembled the bed when we just recently moved forgot to leave my bag of screws and hardware specifically for the bedframe. Has anyone succeeded in getting the necessary hardware same day from their closest IKEA? We did not have the movers reassemble the bed since we discovered broken parts but I am getting tired of sleeping on the floor.
Thinking of getting the Tarva frame (180x200cm) with Lonset slatted base.
Is it sturdy enough for hanky panky of a strenuous nature?
My cat was under the bed. Fortunately he was on the head side and I was climbing from the leg side.
Is this my fault or there's something wrong with the bed?
Hey folks, I have a daikin split system in my apartment and it’s been smelly for weeks so I think it may be moldy. I don’t see any signs on my things though. I just noticed these spots on the headboard of my TARVA. Is this a normal wood thing or is it mold?
Last 2 photos are with flash on
Thanks so much
Let's be honest, IKEA furniture isn't always the sturdiest, especially if you're looking to be thrifty. I saw someone say the TARVA is pretty sturdy in this thread a while back, but I'm specifically wondering if anyone a) has this bed frame and b) has had moderately-intense sex on it without troubles?
I'm also considering the following bed frames, so any input you all have would be great!
-
MANDAL
-
MALM high bed frame with storage
-
BRIMNES bed frame with storage
-
NORDLI
Thinking about buying either the Neiden or Tarva bed in full size. However, I'm a bit concerned about the long-term sturdiness of either option. Anyone have any experience with either? Do they shake and/or squeak a lot? Have they held up over time? Thanks!
