Me and fiancé are moving into a house a week and have been looking for a decent couch. I told her I rather buy a quality leather couch that will last us 10 to 15 years than a cheap ikea couch we will need to replace in a couple years. What’s everyone opinion on here?

I built a nice home theater in my basement a few years ago. I bought a cheap “bonded leather” reclining couch. It looked like shit and was falling apart after a few years. The slightly more expensive top grain leather couch set upstairs is still going strong after more than a decade. Pay the extra money for quality leather, or it will just cost you more to replace.

I don’t like leather couches. Is too damn hot here in Florida, and I stick to leather couches. On the other hand, my IKEA couch is going strong after 7 years. Granted, I didn’t buy the super cheap couch, I bought the $700 one.
