Also the MARKHUS soft close mechanism doesn't work for the new MALM design because of the drawer locking tabs on the drawer hit the soft close spring rail. Found out the hard way after installing half of my dresser with them already More on reddit.com

Drawer depth of MALMs are 9cm deeper than that of KULLENs, MALM is also 10cm wider in outer size, If you're looking for storing larger things or you just have larger sized garment, I think MALM is the way to go, even KULLEN has 1 drawer more, the drawers are smaller in general. More on reddit.com
