I am planning a walk-in closet with the shortest wall being 137 cm. When using IKEA's planner I found out that 1) I wasn't able to make the moduls fit wall to wall and 2) their corner module does not utilize the space fully because of a gap that the two modules make (not really a fan of that). I'll add a picture for reference.
I got to thinking and though that if I were to buy one 100 cm module and one 55 cm module, i could just cut down on the width of the 55 cm module and make it fit wall to wall perfectly. While thinking about that I started pondering the idea of making it seamless without the wall of the two modules and just joining the top and bottom plate. How do I make the join strong enough and how should i join them?
While I am at it - does the bottom panel of the module serve an important function? I want to remove it so I can see my floor instead of the PAX "floor".
All help and tips from you guys is appreciated as I am in need of it all.
IKEA pax corner hack?
PAX Corner Hack
No cabinet at all. Simply use the outsides of the two corner adjacent cabinets to add L-brackets to hold custom cut shelves that fit in between them. Use a piece of wood in the corner as back support for the shelves, and leave it open and exposed as open shelving in-between two closeted doors. Paint it all white, and you have added more storage.
