Can’t remember the specifics anymore, but the 11 was a bit better than the XR, and it had a bit more juice than 11 Pro. 11 Pro Max on the other hand had absolutely fantastic battery life, I remember ending my days at 30-35% battery towards the 4 year mark. Out of the lot, the Pro Max would be my pick. That and the fucking green, absolute beauty. More on reddit.com

The iPhone 7's camera isn't cutting it for me anymore. I tried to be frugal and kept this phone for as long as possible. I'm willing to splurge for a newer iPhone, and am weighing options.

The only difference is the Telephoto camera. Unless you don't like not having the telephoto, just go for the 11.

I was thinking about getting the iPhone 11 Pro, but the main feature I would want is the 3rd lens. Is the 3rd lens really worth the $300 upgrade for a photo-lover?

The only difference for photography is the Telephoto lens. According to Phil Schiller ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rAeqN-Q7x4&t=1h26m35s ), there's also special calibration done at the factory of the iPhone 11 Pro series cameras to make all 3 of of them more identical to one another and there's also software trickery at work to further make them all the same. In the demo, yeah, the transitions between all 3 lenses are perfectly identical. The iPhone 11 demonstration though shows a fairly obvious difference between the 2 lenses/sensors it has. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rAeqN-Q7x4&t=55m47s However, in all the YouTube videos I have watched so far comparing iPhone 11 to iPhone 11 Pro and Pro MAX (and even videos only of the Pro or Pro MAX), I have yet to see any of the Pro & Pro MAX demonstrations by customers have that awesome perfectly-matched colors and lighting like Apple's demonstration for the iPhone 11 Pro series. I've been waiting to see it demonstrated by a customer and I've been waiting for someone to mention it! I'm still waiting! Every single time I have seen the camera lens transitions demonstrated in a YouTube video from an iPhone 11 Pro or Pro MAX, I can see pretty much the same differences in color and lighting as I see on my iPhone 11. I also haven't seen anyone complain about it either. I would, but that's only because I know the transitions between the 3 lenses are supposed to be identical in appearance. So from what I've seen so far, the only difference in the camera systems is the Telephoto lens.

Like others suggested 11 pro max should be great for battery since my non max 11 pro is still giving me 7+ hours of screen on time on each iOS update. Also great to see someone not going for latest just because it has a new model number lol. And 11 pro still has one more major ios update i.e. ios 19 coming next year and another year of updates like ios 19.1 and 19.5 so on and post that it wont get ios 20 however it will get more small security updates for another 2 years or so looking at historical data. So you’ll be set for another 4 years easily if you get a 11 pro max with replaced battery or 100% battery health and do a fresh install of ios 18 on it(see YouTube videos for it).

I don’t see much reason to upgrade. 11 is a fantastic phone with the same internals as 11Pro. Reg Screen Size: 11Pro will immediately feel smaller. 11 is both taller and wider than Pro. I use 11Pro and my wife has 11. I cannot hold 11 comfortably as it feels noticeably bigger in hands. Except for a third lens, OLED Screen and Stainless Body, you are not getting anything extra. Also, the screen quality is near comparable in day-to-day usage. Apple has done a great job in calibrating the LCD display of 11. The brightness & color saturation will also appear similar in both the displays.

The jump from LCD to OLED is noticeable, the back of the phone feels amazing, the internals are the same, you get an extra camera. For me personally, it also fits a lot better in my hand but that depends on your hand size
